Scouting Report on Sioasi Aiono

by Barry Every - 06/03/2010
  • SpeedDivision I Player
  • SizeDivision I Player
  • StrengthBlue Chip
  • AgilityDivision I Player
  • Foot QuicknessDivision I Player
On the Hoof: Aiono has a big, wide power base and strong legs. His body shape is similar to 2009 Oklahoma signee Brandon Webb.
Needs Improvement: Aiono really needs to work on shifting some bad body weight or he will most likely end up playing inside. He could also improve his overall athleticism with a good dose of agility work and stretching.
Most Impressive: He does a nice job with hand placement, getting them inside the defender's arms, thus avoiding holding calls while controlling his opponent. Aiono is also a very physical player and does not mind mixing it up. His size and toughness allow him to project at more than one position along the offensive line.
Conclusion: He already has the size and toughness to compete early for playing time. Look for him to get his first chance on the interior offensive line because he is a real run-mauler who happens to have a nice pass set.
