Next Match: away to Bologna, December 06
Europe: UEFA Champions League (Group B)
Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli is confident he and his team-mates can overcome Andrea Pirlo's absence and keep up their impressive form at Bologna on Friday. The Turin giants suffered a blow in last weekend's 1-0 triumph against Udinese with the experienced playmaker sustaining a knee injury which will keep him sidelined for 40 days. The win was Juve's sixth consecutive in Serie A and lifted the defending champions three points clear of Roma at the top of the standings. "We will miss Pirlo a lot," Barzagli said. "But if Juve wants to prove that we can go far in any competition then we need to have a strong group, capable of substituting Pirlo. No-one can do what Pirlo does but we have important midfielders that can do well." A win on Friday would be a big boost in confidence for Antonio Conte's men in view of Tuesday's must-win Champions League game at Galatasaray.
