Next Match: at home to Celta Vigo, December 16
Oscar Gonzalez is hoping to make his first appearance for Valladolid in almost three months for the crucial game with fellow strugglers Celta Vigo. The forward, the club's top scorer last season, has missed most of this year's campaign due to a recurring shin injury but insists he is ready to return to action at a time his team, currently in the relegation zone, needs him the most. "I feel good and I hope to be able to play against Celta," he said. "I'm not ready to play 90 minutes but I can play one half. I'm ready to lead the team again, Real Valladolid is my home and I can't let them sink. Asked what he thought the team's problems were, he said: "We lack spirit and confidence. We have to realise that we are a good team and have good players, as we have proved in the past."
