Next Match: away to Valencia, January 20 Europe: UEFA Champions League (Round of 16) Real Madrid goalkeeper Antonio Adan has admitted he does not know whether he will be recalled to the starting line-up for the Spanish champions' trip to Valencia this weekend. The 25-year-old's inclusion ahead of Iker Casillas for recent matches against Malaga and Real Sociedad caused a furore in the Spanish press and amongst the club's fans and Adan believes he was wrongly targeted in the fallout. He told AS: "There wasn't just a lack of respect for what I have done in the youth teams, but there were opportunistic opinions. However, I try to be at the margins of all this. I don't have any idea if I will play against Valencia. It is (Jose) Mourinho who has the power to name the team." Sergio Ramos and Pepe are still missing for Los Blancos through suspension and injury respectively, whilst Kaka is also banned after being sent-off in the 0-0 draw with Osasuna last weekend. |
