New Real Betis coach Juan Carlos Garrido has pledged to keep his team, currently bottom of the Primera Division, in the top flight. The former Villarreal coach was named as the successor to Pepe Mel just hours after the latter was sacked on Monday following the 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano, ending three and a half years at the club's helm. "My objective is to guarantee that the club is still in the Primera Division next year," Garrido said at his presentation. "The first thing I want to do is to manage to create a good working atmosphere to help many of our important players get their confidence back. Then, I'll try to get the best out of each player. I've joined a team with great potential."
