Next Match: at home to Osasuna, December 22
Borja Oubina has admitted that spirits are low among the Celta Vigo squad following their 3-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Valladolid, which means both teams are now level on points, just two points clear of the relegation zone. The visitors were reduced to 10 men when forward Charles was dismissed on 56 minutes and then succumbed to a Javi Guerra hat-trick, scored in the final half hour. The captain told a press conference: "It was an important game for us which we hoped to gain confidence from and put our minds at ease for future matches, so losing to a team that is down at the bottom of the league with you feels really bad." And he criticised referee Jose Antonio Teixeira Vitienes for handing out a second yellow card to Charles, calling the decision "one of those things that is very hard to understand".
