Next Match: at home to Recreativo Huelva, May 11 Since thrashing Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan late last month, Almeria has gone off the boil. The Andalusian side is safe from relegation, but defeats at Getafe and Valladolid, and a disappointing tie at home to Betis, have seen Unai Emery's side drop off the pace in the hunt for a place in the UEFA Cup. Almeria is now seven points adrift of sixth-placed Racing Santander with only two games remaining and therefore cannot qualify for Europe, but Emery says the season has been a success. "We have dropped back a little in the last couple of weeks, but whatever happens, we have had a great season and I am proud of my players," he said. Bruno Saltor returns from suspension, but Felipe Melo is doubtful for Sunday's game against Recreativo Huelva. |
