Next Match: away to Hamburg, January 27 Werder Bremen striker Nils Petersen is hoping to hit the target again Sunday in the 98th northern Germany derby against Hamburg. Petersen has scored seven times this season, but bore the brunt of the fans' criticism after missing some easy chances in the 5-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund last weekend. He wants to make it up to them in the best possible way by earning Bremen a fourth straight derby victory. "Statistically, I take one in every five chances, and I missed four against Dortmund," he said on his club's website. "It was a fantastic feeling to score in the derby - it was something special. It was a very important win for the team. I know the fans are disappointed with my tally of goals, but it's not like I miss on purpose. I will try to get more goals." |
