Next Match: at home to Bayer Leverkusen, November 22 Europe: UEFA Champions League (Group A) Bayern coach Louis van Gaal faces five days which could decide his future at the club. His first task is to try and reduce the gap on Bundesliga league leader Bayer Leverkusen by beating it at home Sunday. Attention will then turn to the Champions League Wednesday with Bayern needing a win over Maccabi Haifa to give it any chance of remaining in the competition. But even a win may not be enough if Juventus beats Bordeaux on the same night, a result which would see Bayern eliminated from the competition in the first round. Nevertheless, if the words of general manager Uli Hoeness are to be believed, Van Gaal can rest assured that he will be coach at least until Christmas. Hoeness has said that his position "will be discussed before Christmas". |
