Ten players I hate more than you

More top 10 hate: Brandon Funston

Honestly, dislike is a more appropriate adjective for this segment. Hatred is only relative to draft position.

But since despisement is a prerequisite for participation in this exercise, here are the players the Noise loathes more than clothing on attractive females, plotless action films, deviled eggs, parking attendants, Bac-Os, reality TV, buffet closers in spandex and the embodiment of all things evil in this world, Lucifer Shanahan.

Marion Barber(notes): As we noted last week, Dallas’ implementation of a socialized backfield dulls the Barbarian’s battleaxe. Though he will still be the primary goal-line back, the ‘Boys coaching staff has grand designs of featuring Felix Jones(notes) more prominently in the offense. Barber will still be a bloodhound near the goal-line, but his 16.87 ADP suggests he’s ridiculously overvalued.

Knowshon Moreno(notes): The first-rounder from Georgia, in terms of raw talent, is arguably the most gifted back the Broncos have ever drafted. He’s versatile, undaunted and remarkably quick. So why is the Noise sipping the Haterade? Cry-baby Brandon Marshall’s(notes) suspension and possible exit from Denver cripples the entire offense. Without Baby T.O. in the mix, stacked boxes may become routine, especially if Kyle Orton(notes) continues to flounder. Throw in the competition for carries, and Moreno is avoidable at his 65.82 Mock Draft Central ADP in non-keeper leagues.

Joseph Addai(notes): Donald Brown’s(notes) emergence combined with Addai’s general fragility is exactly why he should be dodged in the 40s. Frankly, there are better and safer options available around the same time. Darren McFadden(notes), Marshawn Lynch(notes) and Ray Rice(notes) instantly come to mind. If an animated, soaking wet cardboard box picked a fight with Chuck Norris, it would prove more durable and long-lasting than Addai.

Braylon Edwards(notes): Trusting Banana Hands to safely cradle a small child or produce consistent points for your fantasy team are risky propositions. Apparent in preseason play, absent concentration continues to be an ongoing issue for Sir Drops-a-Lot. Also, with unexciting options at QB, the odds of Edwards rebounding this season are growing longer by the minute. Chad Ocho Cinco(notes), Anthony Gonzalez(notes) and DeSean Jackson(notes) are wiser choices in the same round the former elite wideout is being drafted (50.09 ADP).

Brett Favre(notes): Favre’s elephantine diva complex makes Barbara Streisand seem like a humble peasant girl. The constant media coverage is nails-on-the-chalkboard galling. Shooting up ADP lists (113.15), it’s perplexing to see the fantasy masses embrace the graybeard. He’s decrepit, old and untrustworthy, especially on a team where Adrian Peterson is the center of the offense. Check the tape from the second half of last year and you’ll agree. A geriatric QB with 3,000-yard, 17-20 TD upside doesn’t deserve to be selected in the same round as Matt Cassel(notes), Matt Hasselbeck(notes) and David Garrard(notes).

Jamal Lewis(notes): Speculation surrounding Lewis’ imminent demise is beginning to surface in C-Town. The emergence of rookie James Davis in preseason play is stark proof the end is near. His forgettable 1,000-yard campaign from a season ago was a preview. Though currently entrenched in secondary roles, Leon Washington(notes) (97.64 ADP), LeSean McCoy(notes) (105.02) and Rashard Mendenhall(notes) (106.01) have far greater upside in the middle rounds. Expect Davis to seize control by midseason.

Chris Johnson: Captain Quick undoubtedly deserves to be a roster cornerstone, especially in PPR formats, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising if his numbers dipped slightly in ’09. Tennessee’s offensive line is magnificent, but the Titans’ anemic passing attack and LenDale White’s(notes) red zone presence are worrisome factors. Of the second-year sensations typically available in the latter portion of Round 1, Steve Slaton(notes) is a wiser choice.

Antonio Bryant(notes): The unsettling combination of a vanilla quarterback situation and limited preseason playing time due to a knee injury are major red flags. He’s bound to underwhelm in Raheem Morris’ more conservative West Coast scheme. This might be the first time in recorded history Jeff Garcia’s(notes) presence would’ve greatly improved a situation.

Ben Roethlisberger(notes): Steely McBeam nationalists with limited interest in fantasy will annoyingly lambaste any “expert” who labels Big Ben “overrated.” But as we all know, Super Bowl rings are meaningless in virtual pigskin. Excluding ’07, Roethlisberger has been incredibly mediocre – fringe starter material in 10-team leagues. Assuming he stays healthy, Carson Palmer(notes), who is going roughly in the same round as Big Ben (89.36 ADP), will be more valuable.

Counter D-Willists: People who abstain from drafting last year’s RB pacesetter (DeAngelo Williams(notes)) in Round 1 simply because he’s involved in a platoon should be Cabled – repeatedly. Carolina’s O-line is one of the finest in the NFC and the conservative offensive scheme hasn’t changed. DeAngelo Williams is a beast. Period. The man shredded even the staunchest of foes last season (i.e. the New York Giants). Another top-five RB performance is on the horizon.

Haha Steve Slaton would be a wiser choice than Chris Johnson. How right you were Evans?

Love the Brett Favre "doesn’t deserve to be selected in the same round as Matt Cassel, Matt Hasselbeck and David Garrard" comment, given that Favre has twice the fantasy points as Hasselbeck and Garrard and nearly twice as many as Cassel.

Good call on Chris Johnson and Joseph Addai, too. "Steve Slaton is a wiser choice." LOL.

God how much I hate you Brad Evans. If I had to pick 10 players I hate more than you, I couldn't. You are the worst Fantasy "expert" I have ever seen, heard or read. Yahoo should not pay you. Wait, I take that back. They should pay you not to give advice or offer your opinion. Please do us all a favor and find some other way to earn income.

Dan k- Jake Delhomme does suck but how could you possibly say that he plays in a weak division? They were one of the strongest in the NFL last year. The Saints were last place and had a 8-8 record. What other division had a better last place team?

I'd rather pluck every tastebud from my tongue one-by-one than take DeAngelo Williams as a number one RB. His situation screams platoon if Jay Stew is healthy. I don't want that kind of risk with my #1 pick.

The people who make the posts @#$%ing about how stupid the fantasy experts are crack me up. They actually get paid to do nothing but research on players and voice their opinions. You don't like their suggestions, don't follow them. Me personnally, I will take any insight any one of them has in reguards to players. I do think Braylon has value in round 6 where I took, I think Moreno has value round 5 may be slightly high for a guy that has not yet proven to me that he is capable of carrying the load, I would rather take Darren Mcfadden in that spot. Bottom line, I don't agree with everything they say, but willing to listen any way. So until you can quit your job and live off of Fantasy Football "YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU'RE TALKING TO ME!!!"

I am the world's Greatest. But seriously, how can you say Knoshown and Chris Johnson are going to bust? Knoshown is indeed the best back that Denver has. Buckhalter will be a backup in Denver, just like he was in Philly. True Orton sucks, but it does not matter what happens with Marshall. Knowshown has the ability to be a big player in the NFL. And Lendale White is just a compliment to Chris Johnson. White will not even get close to his stats from 2008.

P.S. DeAngelo Williams will bust this year and will not even come close to the stats he had last year. Jake Delhomme is a horrible QB. Not sure how he is still a starter in this league, (Steve Smith and a weak division), maybe that is how.

Cliff's Sleepers - Rashard Mendenall, he will be the starter by week 6, probably sooner. Willis McGahee, I am from B-more, Ray Rice is not a NFL starter and will buckle under a starting role. Joe Flacco, he is the real deal. Visante Shiancoe, did I spell that right? Either way he will be a beast this year. Dude had almost 800 yards and 7 TD's with second stringer for life Tavaris Jackson throwing to him. Farve likes his TE's and Shiancoe is a definite sleeper. Matt Schaub will be a top 5 QB this year. Draft him . Can't give you guys all my secrets. Peace out. Brandon I am gunning for your job homie. FOX SPORTS holla at me. Word.

There are two things that I really don't like in this article.

First off Knowshon Morano's entire description above is about how good he is up until the last sentence I don't know how Brandon Marshall is bad for his Performance f anything it wll give him more carries & Catches not to mention Kyle Orton flounderputting yet more stress on the run game.

Secondly Marion Barber, he is a goaline back that's not under question if he were not a goal line back he would be placing 2,3,4 in most drafts and for that reasson he is adaquetly placed.

To end on a good nore I completetly agree about Brett Favre He was never a great Quartrback back he is just a slightly above average Quarterbac who has stayed a slightly above average Quarterback for a very longtime that is the explanation for his records he isn't some legend to go into the history books he is just slightly above average.

Anybody else find humor in Shane F's post at 86? I know i did. It's pretty tough for you to jump on peoples analysis of players based on past seasons stats and state that they are wrong becasue of it......then only to turn around and use past stats to defend your points. Fantasy sports are based on stats and situations alike. Not to mention peoples percieved notions of how a player is doing/going to do. The experts do nothing but voice their opinions and views on situations. If you don't agree with them - who cares- they aren't your views.......they are THEIR views.

Brad, what about a west coast offense do you find conservative? Antonio Bryant will have a much better year. I look for him to have 55-65 catches and 12 touchdown...be for real dude!

the "emergence" of Donald Brown - like he just came out of some kind of mutant chicken egg to steal the starting job. nice. Addai is built like a brick @#$%house, the o-line is healthy, I'll pick him at 48 if he's there.

I have 4 of these guys on my most recent fantasy team. You should post an article at the end of the year to see how WRONG or right you were. Its hard to predict some of these guys.

I have Edwards, Moreno, Lewis and Bryant. Only Bryant and Edwards do I look for a starting nod.

Who was on you list last year? Curious how it panned out

this is why fantasy experts are stupid they dwell on last years stats. De angelo williams is a average rb and has never proven to be a great performer year to year. No way carolina scores another 28 tds that was just a big season that just doesn't happen. So when they have these boom years these average players get over valued. He will be a 1200 if hes lucky and 10-12 rb. Jonathan stewart will cut into more playing time as well. Addai was hurt last year but year before guy had 15 tds. If hes healthy and manning is healthy he will be bakc to 12 to 15 tds donald who? brown? haha how can he even mention this rookie name like he gonna steal carries like hes the next adrian peterson. THen marion barber who 2 years ago scored 16 tds then following year was over another 10 tds and last year through a bad season with owens still almost had another 10tds only only 238 touches. This is through a bad year for dallas who we all know will bounce back for a better offensive year. I bet if you look this guy had addaii and barber rated real high. One bad year he jumps off the band wagon. Braylon edwards has an off year now hes gonna knock edwards who cleary just talent wise is one of the best wideouts in the league. He scored 15 tds on the browns and they have 2 strong qbs. If you take chad johnson whos never had a solid season td wise or who desean jackson? 2 tds last year and mcnabb never falls in love with a wideout over edwards thats a dumb move. You pass on all these guys who have fallen in drafts and are great first roun talent value cause of this guy your making abig mistake and your gonna have a poor season hoping chad johnson or desean jackson is going to blow up if the stats. I never look at stats i look at the situation. Will dallas be better then last year of course. Will carolina score another 28 tds rushing of course not. Will braylon edwards bounce back from 3 tds of course. Will addai bounce back from a off year when the first 2 years he did really well. Of course. He was hurt last year along with manning and now this guys gonna knock him for that. Get real buddy your not winning any leagues staying away from solid players like this who have a solid qb to take pressure off the running game.
