Top Fantasy Basketball Players from Week 9, Feb. 20 to Feb. 26: Fan’s Review

Week 9 of the fantasy basketball season is in the books and there were many great individual performances this week that helped propel head-to-head league owners to wins. From the best in the game to some surprise fantasy contributors, here's a review of the top 10 fantasy players from Feb. 20 to Feb. 26*.

10*. PG Jeremy Lin, New York Knicks

Week 9 statistics*: 3 GP, .350 FG%, .937 FT%, 3 3PTM, 46 PTS, 14 REB, 21 AST, 9 ST, 0 BLK, 15 TO

Despite having his worst start of the season with eight points and eight turnovers against the Miami Heat, Lin has clearly become one of the most valuable point guards in fantasy basketball. He was tied for seventh in free throws made, third in assists, and tied for first in steals this week.

9. PF Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks

Week 9 statistics: 2 GP, .413 FG%, .846 FT%, 2 3PTM, 51 PTS, 28 REB, 3 AST, 2 ST, 2 BLK, 1 TO

After averaging 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds a game in January, Nowitzki has certainly upped his numbers in February averaging 23.9 points and 8.3 rebounds a game. He was tied for twelfth in field goals made, sixteenth in points, and tied for eighth in rebounds this week.

8. PG/SG Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat

Week 9 statistics: 2 GP, .553 FG%, .769 FT%, 0 3PTM, 52 PTS, 9 REB, 15 AST, 5 ST, 2 BLK, 4 TO

With only two games played this week, Wade made the most in his wins over the Sacramento Kings and Knicks with great all-around numbers. He was tied for eighth in field goals made, tied for thirteenth in points, tied for eleventh in assists, and tied for eleventh in steals this week.

7. PG Deron Williams, New Jersey Nets

Week 9 statistics: 2 GP, .450 FG%, .867 FT%, 12 3PTM, 61 PTS, 10 REB, 14 AST, 3 ST, 0 BLK, 10 TO

With Brook Lopez returning from injury, Williams should see an increase in assists and added fantasy value to his game in the coming weeks. He was tied for eleventh in free throws made, first in 3-pointers made, fifth in points, and tied for fourteenth in assists this week.

6. PF/C Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City Thunder

Week 9 statistics: 3 GP, .417 FG%, .800 FT%, 0 3PTM, 24 PTS, 31 REB, 0 AST, 2 ST, 7 BLK, 4 TO

While his block numbers weren't over-the-top this week, Ibaka did manage to have two 13-rebound games and a double-double against the Los Angeles Lakers. He was tied for fourth in rebounds and fourth in blocks this week.

5. C Andrew Bynum, Los Angeles Lakers

Week 9 statistics: 3 GP, .500 FG%, .937 FT%, 0 3PTM, 47 PTS, 45 REB, 5 AST, 2 ST, 4 BLK, 5 TO

Bynum's best game this week was a 19-point, 14-rebound, and one block performance in a win over the Mavericks. He was tied for seventh in free throws made, tied for first in rebounds, and tied for ninth in blocks this week.

4. PG Kyle Lowry, Houston Rockets

Week 9 statistics: 2 GP, .429 FG%, .909 FT%, 3 3PTM, 37 PTS, 15 REB, 14 AST, 4 ST, 1 BLK, 7 TO

Lowry nearly had a triple-double in a big win over the Memphis Grizzlies with 24 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and four steals. He was tied for fourteenth in assists this week.

3. PG Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder

Week 9 statistics: 3 GP, .443 FG%, .846 FT%, 5 3PTM, 81 PTS, 12 REB, 16 AST, 4 ST, 0 BLK, 10 TO

While he was outperformed by one All-Star teammate this week, Westbrook had an absolutely astounding shooting week with two straight 31-point games against the New Orleans Hornets and Boston Celtics. He was second in field goals, second in field goals made, second in points, and tied for eighth in assists this week.

2. SF/PF LeBron James, Miami Heat

Week 9 statistics: 2 GP, .519 FG%, 1.000 FT%, 2 3PTM, 38 PTS, 13 REB, 16 AST, 5 ST, 4 BLK, 7 TO

Efficient as always, James, like Lowry, almost had a triple-double this week with 20 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and two blocks against the Knicks. He was tied for eighth in assists, tied for eleventh in steals, and tied for ninth in blocks this week.

1. SF Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder

Week 9 statistics: 3 GP, .492 FG%, .920 FT%, 7 3PTM, 92 PTS, 21 REB, 16 AST, 9 ST, 2 BLK, 6 TO

This year's All-Star game MVP, Durant put up some MVP-like numbers this week averaging 30.7 points, seven rebounds, and three steals a game. He was first in field goals made, first in free throws made, tied for sixth in 3-pointers made, first in points, tied for eighth in assists, and tied for first in steals this week.
