Top Fantasy Basketball Players from Week 8, Feb. 13 to Feb. 19: Fan’s Review

Week 8 of the fantasy basketball season is in the books and there were many great individual performances this week that helped propel head-to-head league owners to wins. From the best in the game to some surprise fantasy contributors, here's a review of the top 10 fantasy players from Feb. 13 to Feb. 19*.

10*. PF/C Ryan Anderson, Orlando Magic

Week 8 statistics*: 4 GP, .532 FG%, .750 FT%, 16 3PTM, 72 PTS, 22 REB, 3 AST, 5 ST, 0 BLK, 3 TO

Averaging four 3-pointers a game this week, Anderson's best game came against the Philadelphia 76ers on Feb. 15 where he scored 27 points and made seven 3-pointers. He was first in 3-pointers made this week.

9. SG/SF Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .529 FG%, .818 FT%, 10 3PTM, 91 PTS, 22 REB, 5 AST, 4 ST, 5 BLK, 8 TO

With LaMarcus Aldridge missing a game to injury and Wesley Matthews struggling, Batum has thrived in the starting lineup as a primary scorer and all-around contributor. He was tenth in field goals made, tied for fifth in 3-pointers made, and tied for ninth in points this week.

8. PG Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .478 FG%, .947 FT%, 6 3PTM, 68 PTS, 5 REB, 27 AST, 11 ST, 0 BLK, 10 TO

A model of consistency in the Grizzlies' four wins this week, Conley was an exceptionally valuable commodity in Week 8 for his assists and steals. He was tied for tenth in assists and tied for first in steals this week.

7. PF/C Al Jefferson, Utah Jazz

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .513 FG%, .889 FT%, 0 3PTM, 86 PTS, 40 REB, 4 AST, 5 ST, 6 BLK, 10 TO

Jefferson had three double-double games this week, including a season-high 34 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and one block on Feb. 17 against the Washington Wizards. He was tied for fourth in field goals made, and twelfth in rebounds this week.

6. C Marcin Gortat, Phoenix Suns

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .521 FG%, .889 FT%, 0 3PTM, 90 PTS, 63 REB, 6 AST, 7 ST, 5 BLK, 5 TO

One of the most-improved centers of the season, Gortat had an excellent with back-to-back 20-point, 15-rebound games against the Los Angeles Lakers. He was tied for sixth in field goals made, eleventh in points, and second in rebounds this week.

5. PG Deron Williams, New Jersey Nets

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .413 FG%, .875 FT%, 13 3PTM, 110 PTS, 12 REB, 29 AST, 7 ST, 4 BLK, 14 TO

Arguably the best fantasy point guard of the season, Williams scored no less than 26 points in any of his games this week. He was tied for sixth in field goals made, tied for eighth in free throws made, second in 3-pointers made, third in points, and tied for fifth in assists this week.

4. PF/C Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City Thunder

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .692 FG%, .643 FT%, 0 3PTM, 45 PTS, 36 REB, 1 AST, 3 ST, 23 BLK, 3 TO

Ibaka capped off his great week with his first career triple-double against the Denver Nuggets with 14 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 blocks. He was first in blocks this week.

3. PG Kyle Lowry, Houston Rockets

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .491 FG%, 1.000 FT%, 10 3PTM, 84 PTS, 10 REB, 30 AST, 6 ST, 0 BLK, 7 TO

Like Ibaka, Lowry also had his best game on the last day of the week with 32 points, his second-highest scoring total of the season, and nine assists against the Utah Jazz. He was tied for fifth in 3-pointers made, and fourth in assists this week.

2. SF Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .585 FG%, .917 FT%, 10 3PTM, 128 PTS, 32 REB, 11 AST, 6 ST, 3 BLK, 17 TO

In a first for his career, Durant surpassed the 50-point plateau with 51 points in an overtime win over the Nuggets. He was first in field goals made, seventh in free throws made, tied for fifth in 3-pointers made, first in points, and fourth in rebounds among players eligible at small forward this week.

1. SF/PF LeBron James, Miami Heat

Week 8 statistics: 4 GP, .623 FG%, .905 FT%, 6 3PTM, 111 PTS, 33 REB, 23 AST, 8 ST, 1 BLK, 8 TO

Having one of the most efficient seasons in NBA history, James is making nearly 55 percent of his shots from the field, 40 percent of his shots behind the arc, and over 75 percent of his free throws this season. He was second in field goals made, second in points, third in rebounds among players eligible at small forward, second in steals among players eligible at power forward, and tied for ninth in steals this week.
