Forwards look very good. I like Vermette for the faceoffs, but I agree on maybe not needing Boedker. You team has a lot of talent, but I am not sure how well you will do in categories such as PIMS, Hits or Blocked Shots. Goalie situation is a little rough (just like me) but at least you have 2 starters

I like your forwards, though I don't think you need to have two coyotes. Pietrangelo, Burnsy, and Voynov I think are all incredible relative values on D so I'm liking that. I really don't like your goalie situation though. Varlamov could be solid but the other two will constantly #$%$ you off all year. Then what happens if Colorado comes crashing down to earth like so many predict? You have three mediocre - good goalie on three awful teams. Solid B overall. Help with my post, "How's my team?". Thanks!

That's tough, but I think you have to keep Karlsson. He's still so young, just imagine if he went to a legitimate team in a few years or so, still in his prime, maybe even peaking.

I know I don't have too many Penalty Minute guys (someone took Phaneuf from right under me in the draft), but anything else you see as a potential weakness here?

  • I was offered Malkin and Ryan for my Karlsson. My first reaction was that this is an overpay for Karlsson this year but this is Dynasty and there are not any defenceman that can score like Karlsson. Malkin is awesome but injury prone and Ryan I think has topped out as top 40-50 forward. I am already deep at forward as I have Crosby, Perry, Ovy, Hall, Backstrom and others. We have 9 forward positions, 4 D and 2 Util. Standard cats plus hits in 12 team H2H action.
My D are Chara, Burns, Josi, Faulk and Karlsson
Should I pull the trigger or counter offer?

Advice on how to use your bench in H2H

    by Steph Oct 5, 2014 8:45 AM

I'd consider Garrison and Johnson a toss-up. They both project as the #2 option on their respective team (behind Hedman and Wisniewski respectively). I'd expect Johnson to finish with a few more points, but also a weaker +/- and fewer shots.

I would say Richards and Palat are the top 2 forwards in that group. I'm really high on Palat following his beastly 2nd half last year. Richards had a career-worst season last year but he has the track record and will be playing alongside Patrick Kane to start. While Tarasenko and Schwartz are talented, St. Louis really spreads the scoring around so it's difficult to count on anybody breaking out on that roster.

  • My league counts a lot of offensive stats such as: G, A, PTS, PIM, PPP, SHP, HITS, SOG

Keeping that in mind, I was offered a trade for one of the most dynamic fantasy players in the game who fills most these stats. Is this worth it for me to give up Ovechkin?

Offer: Ovechkin and Drouin for Malkin and James Neal

    Who wins?

Thanks for the reply! Nice , team I would really recommend picking up Jake Allen so that you have the Stl tandem because having both is a lot safer then just one without knowing which will play more games. You got the whole Canucks 1st line which should turn out pretty well. Would need to see the stats in the league to know more though.

Stay away from Nash (to streaky and I don't think he'll ever be the same player again),Datsyuk (to injury prone and old), Parise (personally I think he;s overrated and on a bad team) and Niemi (there's talk that Stalock could get up to35-40 games this years-changing of the guard in San Jose).

I think Pavelski would be the best player but if you need a Dman, you can't go wrong with Doughty or Weber. Weber might have more points but Doughty won't be that fare behind and will have a better +/- and probably more PIM and hits.

    Good luck.

I like both sides but really the side with the best player always wins because the team getting less players back can just pick up a free agent that should be pretty good too. Maybe add the best free agent to the Crosby/Karlsson side then we can judge it better.

For having only 10 teams your goalies look a little weak but rather than that not bad.

  • Standard roto league. 10 teams.
player stats - goals, assists, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, Hits. Goalie stats - Wins, GAA, SV, SV%, SHO
    my team:
    c - Backstrom, Dubinsky

    lw - Pacioretty, Landeskog

    rw - Ovechkin, Kessel

    f - Ladd, Nyquist

d - Eric Karlsson, OEL, Giordano, Markov, Leddy

    bench - Vrbata, Grandlund, Muzzin

Goalies - Lehtonen, Halak, bench - Bernier

    Thanks
