Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I would keep lillard - I feel westbrook is only blowing up because of all of the injuries, durant out for 60 games, ibaka recently going down. Think about next season - durant ibaka kanter will all be eating into his usage. Lillard has posted top value while his supporting cast was around him.
i'm up 5-2, but 4 cats are within 3 stat points.. lowry has been a FA for 2 days and I've used all of my adds this week, worth picking up at midnight? chances of him playing early next week? I think the raptors would opt to rest him to ensure he is 100% healthy going into the playoffs, they have pretty much locked up the middle seed of 4/5..
i have lillard, irving, and anthony davis. We can keep 2 players. 10 team roto. Would you trade lillard and irving to get westbrook? Or i would keep davis and one of the pg, and just hope to get one back in next seasons draft. I would be able to keep both davis and westbrook going into next year if i do it. His next best player is melo or maybe drummond. He is on the fence with the deal. I would appreciate any input, as nba is something i am getting used to. thanks
Even in a limited role I think Howard outperforms Gibson in the next 2 weeks, BUT he's also reported to not be playing in back to backs, and can still kill your FT% in a limited role, so you have to take that into consideration. 4 so-so type games from Gibson with good FT% might be more valuable than 2 games with bad FT% from Dwight?
I definitely agree that JV has a ton of potential but am not 100% sure that Toronto will ever push him to that ceiling. There have been many games this year where for no real apparent reason they held his minutes in check. Games that had nothing to do with foul trouble, poor performance, injury or fatigue. It made a little sense earlier in his career when he was still adjusting to the NBA, but now it doesn't make sense to me. Hopefully they will fully unleash him next season. If not, I hope he gets traded.
As far as the PG for C trade, like I said earlier I doubt someone will part with Gobert for Holiday unless they are really strong at PF/C and really need a PG but it's definitely worth trying. When healthy Jrue has great value. The Hill for Dieng trade IMO is much more likely to get accepted. Dieng has shown flashes of greatness but hasn't been as consistent with it as Gobert, and doesn't have the same hype around him so that manager probably won't value him on the same level as Gobert. And Hill has some nice stats this year. If that manager isn't worried about PG13 returning next year and ruining Hill's value they might go for that.
Also, about Batum. Yes 99% of my frustration from him is because of nagging injuries. But once you get injured or play poorly through injuries so many times, that stops being an excuse for poor play, at least for me. This isn't the first season where Batum has shown pretty elite potential when healthy and then a bunch of total duds because of injuries, and Ipersonally don't think it's his last. I hope it is, because if he could sting together a couple seasons in a row where he's 100% healthy all 82 games he would become a VERY hot commodity.
Thanks.... I think I'm looking at offering Holiday for Gobert or Hill for Dieng. We'll see if those work. I also agree that JV and Batum get old. But Batum is/was hurt this year. I've owned him on this team in the past and it's a great source of about every stat. I actually dealt Milsap for him the first few weeks. Wish I could take that back. And JV, he's still super young. I move Hibbert for him. I'm wiling to wait because I think he can be a consistent 18/10 guy once the Raptors realize what they have.
Thanks for the info.
If you end up dropping Martin, I'd pick up a healthy body rather than stash Jones. If you are going to stash a player I'd recommend stashing Martin over Jones. In that case I'd probably go with Tucker, or the player you can use the most.
i agree that blocks sticks out as something to improve in. If PG13 comes back healthy net year I don't think you'll be that bad in 3PTM with IRving, THompson and George leading the way. I think targeting a young up and comer rim protector would be great. Gobert has shown he its your needs but also isn't going to come cheap in a dynasty league. With Jrue's injury concerns I'd honestly be surprised if the Gobert owner would agree to a HOliday for Gobert swap. But it's worth a try. Although when Holiday is healthy you have a very formidable PG lineup of Irving, Conley, Holiday and Lawson. Great mix of D stats, 3's, assists and scoring. I like building my team around PG's so I'd personally like to keep Jrue, especially if his trade value is low due to injury. I'd be more open to trading Hill. he obviously won't get you Gobert, but he could get you a good shot blocker or you could package him with someone else. As much as I like Batum and Valanciunas in real life, I get sick of relying on them in fantasy. They have great potential but lack consistency throughout the year. Even with Matthews out for the year, Batum has still struggled with consistency. While JV could just as easily put up 6 points with 12 boards as 12 points with 6 boards you just never know, and for a 7 footer he doesn't have many games with more more than 1 block. But they both still have great trade value... I"m not saying they are bad or not worth owning, but ifyou could flip them into someone mroe consistent then I would.
Overall I really like this team. Very good depth at each position with nearly half your team having 2nd round or better upside.

5th Season, On track to play in the championship
Just looking to next year. Here is my projected lineup. Any thoughts/concerns?
3PTM and BLK are my worst Cats this year. REB was, but I've made up some ground. I'm thinking about trying to deal for a Gobert or Dieng. I'll probably try to deal Hill or Holiday, as G is my best asset.

i'm playing in a standard non-keeper league; however, we are using the FAAB rolling tie break list - i have 3rd highest amount to spend, the highest is the 2nd place guy who has a bye and hopefully isn't checking this week. so hopefully there's a chance I can pick him back up, especially with how everyone is concerned with the out indefinitely verbiage used
I doubt you'd be able to pick him up again. With only 3 days left in this week, someone will be confident enough that they will win this week's matchup and take a chance on Lowry being healthy for next week and use a waiver claim on him. At least that's my best guess. If I were in a non keeper league and was still contending and saw that Lowry was dropped, I would have to be 5000% confident in my team as is stands to not take a chance on Lowry. He's just TOO good when healthy to let someone else snag him.
I don't blame you for dropping him, especially with the news that he's out again tonight and has no other games this week. But I wouldn't hold my breathe hoping to pick him up again if you advance.
I'm only a part o 1 non-keeper/dynasty league this year and in that league the team owning Lowry has already been eliminated, but I would guess that in most leagues Lowry has been dropped by managers unsure if they'll win this week, and kept by managers confident they can win this week's matchup without him.
next question.. has anyone picked him up? is it plausible that I can pick him up at the start of next week? I think he'll be back by then lol - I had to drop him to maximize stats for this week to try and advance
