Joining the same league problem

I was messing around and I found that it allowed me to join the league that I was already ...

I was messing around and I found that it allowed me to join the league that I was already in again. So I now have two teams in the same league under the sane yahoo id...this seems like a huge error because you could just trade with this team and help it out in the draft...is this an error or has it always been this way

Keeper leagues are easier if you are in a plus league because they have automated draft features that make a live draft easier. However it is not necessary to be in a plus league to have a keeper league. All that is necessary is a group of dedicated owners that want to make it happen, and at least one to keep things straight. WIth the archieved leagues page its alot easier then it was in the past as well. Really all you need is to decide the number of people involved, the league rules (scoring used and perhaps some rules in place for other instances...my plus league has around a four page rule book...its plus for the scoring not because its a keeper league) and then some place where people can gather in the off-season to discuss trades or be notified when the league is active. I like Yahoo groups for that. The most important thing though is getting the right group together. You could have the best most well thought out league, but without the right people it will be garbage.

I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. I signed up for 4 public leagues and for some reason when Yahoo assigned me the various leagues a couple of days later it put me in one league twice. Unfortunatly in a public league once the players are autopicked you can't just delete a team. Personally I Iooked at both teams , decided which one would be the best of the two and just benched the players on the 2nd team and never went back to the 2nd team again. I thought about dropping the entire second team to the F/A pool but than figured that wouldn't really be fair either. It was a head to head league so basically everyone got an occasional bye week and it all evened out. I let the other managers know so they wouldn't waste time offering trades , etc; to the dead team. However depending on your morals you could certainly win your league or at least have a good chance at it. I am not one to judge so do what you think is right as they say. If it hasn't drafted yet though than you can certainly delete one of the teams and solve the whole thing at once.

A keeper league can only be started by a commissioner who know show to maintain a keeper league. It costs nothing to play, it doesnt involve playing in a yahoo fantasy baseball plus league, it does involve your keeper league commissioner to maintain your keeper players from season to season.
