Commissioner Corner Message Board
I am launching the inaugural Bad Ideas League. Let’s face it, fantasy football is a crapshoot and anyone can win a league just by getting lucky during the draft. Or can they? In this league, we draft early and then spend the entire summer hoping our top players don’t tear their ACLs in camp. Here are the rules:
- The draft is held within 2 weeks of the league launch. In future seasons, the league will launch as soon as fantasy football opens. This means future drafts will be in mid-May.
- No adds or drops are allowed until Week 1 ends. Basically, you only get to use the players you drafted up until this point.
- Trades are allowed during the add/drop lockout
This league is open to suggestions. If you have a bad idea you want to submit, then let it be known. Rules cannot be changed once the draft occurs.

These are explained within "Commissioner Tools", however, the BASIC differences are the rolling list you mentioned, and FAAB's.
Rolling list, usually set by team standings, the LOWEST getting the higher priority OR the waiver priority # set post-draft. When a waiver claim is successful, that top-team is dropped to the BOTTOM of the waiver list, all other teams move up a spot. This is the "rolling" list and generally continues throughout the season.
FAAB's: Or Free Agent Acquisition Budget (is actually a misnomer, because free agents are free), is a pre-determined set-aside $$ amount which managers can use to bid on WAIVED players. In this system the waiver priority is ONLY used in the case of more than one team submitting same-dollar bids. Managers bid on these available players with the manager who submits the highest bid awarded the player. Some commissioners have a system where teams can "earn" FAAB monies to increase their chances of obtaining players later on. A manager who is the SOLE bidder of a player COULD be awarded that player with a $0 bid.
You have to understand there is NO app that's going to totally duplicate the same functions/look you can get on a computer. The memory requirements make this impossible. However, the closest you can actually get is opening a Chrome browser on your iPhone/ipad or Android phone/tablet, and using these same functions as you would within a PC browser. Even so, there will still be some functional limitations and the size of the screen will drive the most sane person batty, but hey, its WAY more functional than the app and you don't have the locking problems. The only OTHER thing to keep in mind......ads......Yahoo LOVES them, and most all run using Adobe FLASH.....which today most phones/tablets no longer use.....however,they ALSO play havoc with browsers running on phones,so take a couple of mins, and load a ad-block program in Chrome (extension) so these pesky ads do not contribute to the locking problem as well.
Free 1st year 12 team salary cap league has room for 8 more team managers. Will be drafting mid July. Come check out the league, if it's not for you then you can delete your team, no problem. Contact me at mardigras50 at yahoo
fun league.. big roster.. big points... Should be fun
I believe the app only can view finalized teams. The website shows teams, even if the keepers and teams aren't finalized yet. In a keeper league, until you finalize keepers and lock the teams, it just shows what the active roster was at the end of the year last year. In my leagues like this, I have to go on the website to see who I had on my team, the phone shows it as empty.
I'm the commissioner of my league and this is our first year converting to a Keeper League. Some of the managers can't see the players on their teams when they open the app on their iPhones, but they can see them when they go to the league site on their PC. Is this happening to anyone else? How can we fix it?
By the way, I'm not having the same problem with my iPhone app which is weird.
The "Commissioner Updates " section is alphabetized (since the update last year) so the CHANGES are showing. Simply click on NOTES to see your Commissioner's Notes.
I renewed my league from last year but we are not inviting everyone back. I'm having a hard time finding the option to invite new users. Not sure if there is some option that needs to be changed or what. Any help on this is appreciated.
