Hard to say without knowing your league's scoring / cats. Generally, I would trade Giordano - he's the oldest and he's a bandaid boy compared to the other two. Plus, not only is his value high for a trade, but Calgary has a glut of higher-end d-men with the additon of Hamilton and it may cut into some of his time. You're likely to get the most trade value for Giordano over the two as well.
I have 3 dmen and I can decide which two to keep. I have a potential buyer for any of them with a higher draft pick in return. It's an ongoing keeper league.
So, you'd keep Daley and Hartnell over the likes of Staal, Krejci and Zibanejad? I also won the draft lottery and will be picking McDavid first overall.
Also, most teams are keeping 1 d-man, so the Daley keep might be overvaluing him a bit (I do see your point about not seeing who the others are dropping (we don't find out until a few days before the draft, in order to keep trade chatter up)...
We also have a farm (of 4 players), where I have Morgan Rielly, John Gibson and Nik Ehlers (Rielly must be called up after game 3 of the season, so he'll be on the roster too)...
Does that change anything?
Without looking at the other GM's teams (to see who they might drop), I would keep:
1. Stamkos (Easy choice, one of the most solid 1st lines in hockey)
2. Seguin (Dallas should have a much better year with there offseason pick ups)
3 .Taveres ( Best season of his career last year with G38 A48)
4.Pacioretty ( His knee is recovering well , last two years has been 30+ goals)
5.Fleury (Most shutouts in the league last year)
6.Ekman-Larsson ( Great D considering the team, 20+ goals last year)
7.Hartnell ( When he plays close to a full season he is around 20G 30A)
8.Daley ( Best second defense on your list )
9. Vanek ( When he plays a full season he is around 20G 30A)
Hope that helps!
Keeper league. Straight points (goal=1, assist=1, win=1, SO=2)
I can keep 9, no positions mandate (we start 9 forwards, 4 defence and one goalie with a max of 82 games per roster spot)
Who do I keep?
if your looking to sign up for a game, espn has there's up, and if your really competive and want a lot of teams you can enter up to 25 teams
OK then, copy & paste the post where I said that! I COMMENTED on a board where someone ELSE said it was going to start on the 3rd, then they said the 6th. On the 6th, is when Sean Leahy, editor for Yahoo, posted on twitter that hockey was opening on 8/20....since then this is what I have been posting and I've stuck to it! If you can find where I say OTHERWISE.......POST IT!
Yeah Colin he did say that, he can say it wasn't him but we all read his post's...just ignore the wanna-be's and it will open when it opens
I NEVER said it was on the 3rd or 6th, you have me confused with someone else sir! If you read my earlier posts, this was confirmed by Yahoo editor Sean Leahy on twitter 8/6, if you do not believe me, look it up!
In another post you said it was going to be on the 3rd or the 6th I believe, I'm not counting on the 20th.
The sole down-side to Ehlers is his size, because of that i don''t think the Jets will expose him early on. McDavid should shine on a stocked young Oilers team, Subban on the Bruins could back-up Rask, Johns was a key coup for the Stars,Zacha is a poss franchise-player for the Devils,Morin is a young Chris Pronger. I actually think in 3-5 years, this seasons rookie class will be looked at as one of the most talented in quite a few years. Of course, all this depends on staying healthy, learning the speed of the NHL game, and being able to keep up with some of the NHL behemoths.
It depends on a couple of your league settings, but if your going on basic points where a G is 2 and A is 1 this might help : If you take a look at GP,G,A in the last two years add it up and divide by two then here are the Average stats : Jeff Skinner : GP 74 G 25.5 A17 Points : 68 . TJ Oshie GP 75.5 G 20 A 37.5 Points: 77.5 and finally Malkin GP: 62 G 25.5 A 45.5 Points : 96.5. Thats a 49 Point gap compared to Oshie and Skinner.
Side Notes : Oshie might be playing on the same line as Ovechkin and Backstrom so he is likely to go up, Skinner is most likely going to stay the same. Malkin could play along side Kessel as they try to find what line Kessel best fits ( It most likely will be top with Crosby) but if he stays on second Malkin's number of Assists is going to skyrocket.
Personally: If I had Malkin I would not trade him for Oshie& Skinner because you can easily pick up another player to fill in that 49 point gap.
Hope this Helps!
Is the Malkin fro...an approved hairstyle? I'm cautious about Malkin cause I hear his agent is looking to get his contract voided to go back to Russia...so obv Oshie/Skinner wins....
