  • 12 team H2H 6x6 dynasty league.
Runs, HR's, OBP, SLG, SB-CS, RBI / Innings, ERA, WHIP, Kper9, Quality Starts, Net Saves + Holds

    2 TRADE OFFERS
    1. SAMARDZIJA(age 31) FOR KYLE SEAGER(age 26)

    2. JD MARTINEZ FOR MANNY MACHADO

I am a little torn here, but my gut says trading the shark for Seager makes more sense since this is a dynasty league, but my starting pitching is pretty weak so its definitely a risk. Does anyone think Machado will be more consistent?

    Current Roster:
Here is my current batting roster:

Yahoo ranks don't incorporate league settings?

    by Will T May 26, 2015 4:11 PM

I suspect Yahoo takes every category into account when ranking players, hitting and pitching. Why in the world wouldn't they? Thus you are asking them to remove categories to rank a player for your league, again why would any manager/owner want that? I want to see them ranked with all categories included and I'll pick up the one I like based on my category needs. Your commissioner chose the categories for your league and if not for the category limit could have chosen many more.

To all those that say it is "all" computerized, how does the computer take into account UPSIDE and upside changes from day to day depending on who is pitching? Yahoo experts have their say in Yahoo rankings, I see Behrends and many other Yahoo experts including them in their stories/blogs all the time. The database should include all categories, that is the ONE category scenario that means the most.

Example, Scooter Gennett ranked 1683 vs John Singleton ranked 1485, Gennett has played in the majors and has stats, Singleton has no stats yet ranked higher. Has to be some human input.

    Carlos Gonzalez?

    by EricS May 26, 2015 11:23 AM

Andrus has been around a .600 OPS guy this season. Escobar, who is not on fire by any means, has been around .700

  • It seems like Stat Tracker REALLY SUCKS this year its not keeping up with whats going on in the games very well !!!!!!!!!

Well, your talkin apples/oranges? You wanted Util spots, which is ANYBODY...and just about ANY 4th OF would be a better choice at Util then Andrus. But now if we're talkin SS, now your limiting the field...but there are several better options then Andrus at SS. Andrus is good for 1 THING SB, and this season , he's decided not to run, so he's not even worth that IMO!

    New Category W/QS

    by DPA May 26, 2015 10:55 PM

Wins ARE arbitrary because it has no bearing on how a pitcher pitched. Last night, Shoemaker went 7 SO IP, got no decision....the game was decided in extras. Wins is a circumstance of who was on the mound when the game was decided, it really is no measurement of how well a pitcher pitches. QS is a more accurate measurement, because its measured against a standard..6IP-3ER. Also a QS is ONLY awarded to a SP IF he qualifies, regardless of what the competition does. A win is awarded once every game. I've seen pitchers throw 1 or 2 pitches, get 1 out, 1/3 IP ....and get the win? THAT's why I say its arbitrary.

Yahoo ranks don't incorporate league settings?

    by Will T May 26, 2015 4:11 PM

think about it - the possible combinations of rankings required for all variations of custom leagues would be in the quadrillions (do the math - its not a made up number). so how long in its nightly update would it take the yahoo computer to calculate new rankings - unless its a US military computer, it would be hours. and as a user, how would you use it - your search engine would have to uniquely specify the settings. very few users would care. a seemingly simple idea would be totally impractical.

sounds like a stat just for the purpose of having a stat. some are just so meaningless. I know every day when I look at the sports section I want to see who had a qs???

  • The league is a 16-team league with 30 roster spots (25 keepers so we draft five rounds every season)….super competitive and this is one of the stronger rosters for someone looking for a project

    Yasiel Puig
    Brian Dozier
    Manny Machado
    Wil Myers
    Mike Moustakis
    Justin Morneau
    Joe Mauer
    Danny Santana
    Asdrubal Cabrera
    Dalton Pompey
    Alex Jackson
    Jurickson Profar
    Dominic Smith
    Jorge Alfaro

    Jon Lester
    Jacob DeGrom
    Drew Storen
    Garret Richards
    Jake Ordozzi
    Kyle Hendricks
    Marcus Stroman
    Zach Wheeler
    Jared Cosart
    Dylan Bundy
    Mark Appel
    Luis Severino
    Henry Owens
    Hunter Harvey
    Tyler Kolek

Like I said, this is a super deep league in its fifth season so prospects are highly valued in this league so there are tons of options as far a directions a new owner could take this team…definitely plenty of pieces to either win now with (by trading to prospects) or win later with by dealing some vets. Let me know if you're interested in seriously taking over this team and I'll shoot you an invite

Why combine them when there is already a "W" and a "QS" category?
