Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm taking the Dodgers to win in a battle of LA, seeing as Kershaw will pitch a TONNE. I'd like to see the Pirates though, and they could be sneaky but have to beat a tough Nats team.
Well they can't start Gray (two days ago) and Kazmir has been very untrustworthy of late. Lester is their best pitcher, so I don't see a problem. Shark would be my #2 then Gray.
What is everyone's thoughts on the A's bringing in Lester at the 11th hour and starting him in the wild card game instead of starting a guy like Gray or Kazmir who's been carrying the team all season? Even the Shark has been there longer.
They do struggle! They would get the 24th rated guy instead of 8 & 17 etc. If you want them, pay for them in to trade throughout the year. Your point was to always have the choice to get the best player and now you're saying that they will struggle once they do? His does that make sense to you wanting Trout? Fantasy is a a numbers game and you should be able to win with who you've got.
John is trying to be sarcastic and making a point that makes no sense at all so I make a smart comment back. Teams are drafting players who won't be on the roster for several years and the majority never even play on the MLB team that drafted them. The draft order exists to create parity in the leagues. Neither of these reasons are applicable to fantasy sports.
And to your point about me needing Trout to win, that is not the case. But the team who does get Trout should have to pay an arm and a leg for him and struggle to fill other spots on his team. Not be able to come back and own the best guy in the 3rd round as well.
3 of my 4 leagues were auction -1 auction did not win and funny enough it was the league I owned Trout in. I owned Trout in 1 league and neither Miggy nor Trout in any other league including the standard draft I did.
Lots of good keeper choices there. I agree with just keeping one pitcher and yes it should be Sale. You have to keep Abreu, Gomez, Pence, Cano. Then I would say also keep Dickerson and Arenado. The last spot I'd probably give to Springer, but you could make an argument for Melky, Springer, Votto, or Han-Ram as well.
JIGGA, that's a sorry point, you don't know John or his leagues at all so why make a blind/false comment? There are so many faults in an auction draft as well.
It's called trading in standard drafts and being frequent on the wire. If you want the top players go ahead and trade for them by giving up a lot of early to mid round guys, leaving you with 2-3 top 15 guys and a waiver wire bottom of the team. Same irresponsible and sloppy results.
Also, if you're so good at fantasy, why do you need the top 6 guys to win? That point actually works against your 'skill' argument. I drafted Votto and Braun in the first round this year (12 & 13 overall) and traded them throughout the year actually only having 2 players on my team that I drafted. You shouldn't need the Trouts to win if you know players and are skilled. My best player at the end of my season was probably Jose Altuve or Anthony Rizzo (90th and 118th overall at draft time). Don't insult these people JIGGA and know the facts.
Keep 8, 12 team H2H, R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP
I have liked a 6-2 hitter pitcher split in the past but not sure I can justify keeping any other pitcher than Sale this year... Thoughts?
