Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Might have to rely on auto draft for my league this year, so have been setting up my pre-draft rankings. I put all Ks and DEFs on Do Not Draft, and then went to test out my draft order in mock drafts. Auto Pick followed my draft order with no problems while it was picking my starters, but as soon as it got to picking my bench, it completely ignored my custom ranking and relied solely on Yahoo's rankings, which meant I wound up with 2-3 QBs, RBs, and WRs on my bench (in addition to my starters). Is there something I can do in setting up my rankings to avoid this? Or is it intentionally part of the auto pick algorithm?
So I am rejoining my keeper league after 2 seasons off.
I don't know whats going on. I inherited this team, and we can keep a maximum of 3 players.
It's an auction league, and we get to spend $200
Scoring is pretty standard but there is 1 point for receptions.
I am thinking of just keeping two players, Philip Rivers and Frank Gore.
I don't think any of the receivers are going to do anything this year.....but I could be wrong.
Tell me what you think......
Remember, only 200 to spend, so even though Martin may be a good bounc eback sleeper for example, his price tag is 33, which is too high. Gore is just 19, Rivers is 11.
Colin Kaepernick (SF - QB): 44.0
Dwayne Bowe (Cle - WR): 11.0
Percy Harvin (Buf - WR): 24.0
Terrance West (Cle - RB): 11.0
Zach Ertz (Phi - TE): 11.0
Steven Jackson (Atl - RB): 11.0
Frank Gore (Ind - RB): 19.0
Philip Rivers (SD - QB): 11.0
Reggie Wayne (Ind - WR): 13.0
Brian Hartline (Cle - WR): 11.0
Doug Martin (TB - RB): 33.0
Joe Flacco (Bal - QB): 11.0
Eric Ebron (Det - TE): 11.0
Zach Miller (Sea - TE): 11.0
Jermichael Finley * ( - ): 11.0
Ryan Fitzpatrick (NYJ - QB): 11.0
Matt Bryant (Atl - K): 11.0
Alex Henery * ( - ): 11.0
Tampa Bay (TB - DEF): 11.0
Somebody paid $44 for Kaepernick? Sheesh, no wonder they bailed.
Yeah, I don't even think I'd keep Rivers for $11, unless it's a really deep or 2 QB league or something. 12 team leagues you can get quality QBs like Ryan, Romo, Stafford, Eli, etc. for under $10.
And you're right, $33 is too much to pay for Martin--but if you can get him back for under $15, it would be a good idea!
It seems to be changing daily. A week ago I would have said Ameer Abdullah (at least in PPR leagues) and Brandin Cooks, but people are catching on. Still seems you can get guys like DeAndre Hopkins, Doug Martin, LeGarrette Blount, and Jarvis Landry at a fair price, sometimes even Jonathan Stewart, and I like Eli Manning to outperform his top 10 finish from last year now that he has Cruz back, and James Jones and Shane Vereen as added targets.
Yeah, that's pretty rough. On the plus side, you have a lot of guys who are still riding a hype wave who you might be able to get traded before they are exposed in the regular season. I would try to put Watkins or Smith together with Gordon, Hyde or Randle and see if you can't nail down a decent RB like Gore, Stewart, or Morris, and then maybe send Watkins and another of those 3 RBs for Doug Martin and a WR like Charles Johnson.
Then if Gurley or Foster come through for you later in the season, you'll be in good shape.
Oh yeah, Gore is solid. Bradshaw, Herron and Richardson combined for something like 370 fantasy points last year, while Gore was the #17 RB (standard scoring) facing 8 in the box on a terrible offense. He's getting a little old, sure, but I think he's got another year in him.
steals imply that the player will outperform their draft position by a good amount. I think steve smith will do due to the fact that hes going super late. charles johnson is another one.
Agreed. Kelce has more yards after the catch than anyone else at the position and that was while battling lingering injuries last year. Now that KC has an actual receiving threat in Maclin we should see better use of the TE.
And now he's a RB on a Harbaugh/Marc Trestman team. I expect similar numbers to Forte in terms of PPR but not EXACTLY the same numbers because 100 catches is ridiculous.
Why would you trade a guy who averages 1200 yards and 9 TDs with a WR1 and another RB for Jeffery and a RB who is only useful in PPR and even then might bust with a new team? That doesn't make sense.
If you're keeping OBJ then I would take a RB with your first pick and depending on who is kept from those other teams I would rank them Lacy, Bell(if you don't mind losing 2 games), AP, Lynch, Charles, DT(if he's there since you didn't mention him), then Dez
The Redskins do suck but Morris averages 1200yds and 9TDs. That was with Helu taking passing downs. With Helu gone, as long as Jones is a better pass catcher than Morris, he will also only take the passing downs and a few carries.
