nievesracers, aka "Joe Iceman-Nieves" is pretty darn good at this stuff, Bogey - and he's been doing it awhile. you should check out his blogs there - lots of insight and good sense. I just signed in so I could see what he has to see this week..

It was a dang good race - and, as I recall, the only "Big Name Sprint Cup Driver" was Kasey Kahne (he finished something like 7th? I think?) - so you got to see how up-and-comers, and the older-and-finishing-out-their-career-guys could race each other without the Superstars taking over.

Dang, you got me so intrigued by this, I went back and looked at his races - he got something like a 324 at Dega......mostly middle-of-the-road scores, but some very smart usages of some the lessor drivers - like, he picked Stenhouse when he finished 2nd, and all that - if he just runs Th Big Guns now, he might climb like crazy -
The way I won the Ducky's Championship last year was by just managing to stay in the 90th percentile, so I could make the chase there - but, I saved all my strong C drivers & a lot of JJ's, and everyone else had used them up - so I rocked The Chase based on saved drivers, and won The Championship. (This year, I'm having a rough time in Ducky's, saved too much and might not make The Chase - we shall see.....)

Ryan Blaney is gonna kick some a z z, too - this second generation that has grown up with it - well, some are just okay, but Chase and Ryan look like The Future of NASCAR, to me......

That was both a giggle and a piece of misery - much as a person can hate Kyle, you just gotta love Sam.... so if Kyle had been driving, it would have been a good kick - but with Sam driving, it was kinda sad.....
I know it is really, really hard - because, back when we had clever trolls, it was just too difficult to not get caught up in playing with them - I broke the "don't feed the animals" rule way too much, myself.......But, right now - -- all we have left is the dregs of the dregs of the dregs of trolls......nothing good or clever or funny or fun to play with. The ones here since Ditzi & Blojo drove off all the good posters - Regs & Sharp Trolls - just ain't worth rating or replying to. Let's starve 'em out - not rate or reply to them at all......there hasn't been a smart/clever troll around here since crazy ditzi and stooopid blojo drove everyone off from daily banter - let's let the Good Ones Regs' and even the sharp trolls) come back, and TOTALLY IGNORE (INCLUDING NOT RATING) the bottom-of-the barrel-trolls they left behind.......

Heeheehee - you always get over on me, you devil you - but I DO have to put head to pillow now - and seeing you here has already kept me another hour......I gotta do this, the alarm goes off way too soon.....

Now, just see if you can lure Buckey out, and it will be - BAR&GRILLE TIME!
Gotta go before it's too late - oh, dang - I forgot, it's way past to too late, LOL!
Sweet Dreams, Y'All!

Me, for just a few more minutes, gotta get up in 3 hours - MoToR-the-Man - I got a Big Grin at your showing up - see you tomorrow? I gotta disappear from here now - but, Sweet Dreams, and come back soon! Like, within 24 hours soon!

Yeah - something is unusually screwed up, even for this place - lots of comments on other boards about it......Q points have not been processed - don't remember it ever going this long. So, we shall see what we shall see.....

In the immortal words of Wooderson: "Alright! Alright! Alright!"
MoToR's here......what more can I say - except - Hey, MoToR!

Dang, it wouldn't post my reply, ROFLMAO! - guess the NASCAR board doesn't like the number "3" - no wonder it's so screwed up - I'll tell you on the other board, it was pretty - well, serendipitous, seriously!

Gotta take Dood to the vet at 10:30 this morning - but, a third beer, switching between practice repeat & NNW repeat - I figure, 3 hours sleep should do the trick.....

Don't worry about the "thumbs down" - the more you get, the Bigger Star You Are - or, bigger threat to the *mama's basement dwellers* (basically, they are the same thing, anyway) you are, out here!
The biggest troll here has 23 profiles, and if he gets his panties in a twist, will spend about half-an-hour-signing in-and-out of each to rate the best posters 23 thumbs down, ROFLMAO - wear every thumbs down as a badge of honor!

There is a highly respected player here at Yahoo! who used to post regularly out here, but hasn't since the Mo-Schitzi years - he can still be found in some specialty leagues - however - he is The Most Learned Bourbon Connoisseur I've ever met - we went to Dega together a couple of times - I was invited to his house to enjoy his collection pre-race - he has bourbons by the bottle that cost over a hundred dollars a shot in bars......and he Very Generously let me enjoy some, carefully poured in appropriate-sized snifters - OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me, I'm a simpler girl - will drink Rebel Yell because it's all about the "Rebel" being smooth and sweet with a bite, and I think Maker's Mark's is a good treat.....
But This MAN! He knows Bourbons inside out (as they know him, LOL) - and OMG - talk about an honor a privilege to drink from his private stock - almost as much as it was an honor and privilege to enjoy his company and do Dega with him twice!
Well - Here's to Kentucky - we need a pleasurably rough and bumpy bourbon or whiskey for this one!

You re right, Tom - I should have been clearer. I was, of course, cheering you on for your comment.
The irony I was referring to was that NASCAR was built on the strong independent spirit of its racers and frequently independent teams - and with its passing to the next generation, it is now all corporate greed.
Like you, seeing only 42 entrants hit me hard. I know many people don't care for the "back-marker" teams - but I think we need the Tommy Baldwins, Frank Stoddards, and Bob Jenkins.
And, look at the strides Front Row Motorsports and Tommy Baldwin Racing have made after going from S&Ping to raise money in their early years - if they continue on their current paths, they will be truly competitive teams in a decade.....
Only 42 entrants means there is little room for the dreamers - like Alan Kulwicki....
