A largely agree with Anthony's assessment. It's a pretty solid, balanced team a little shy on power. You have a good starting rotation, but if it was my club I too would try to acquire another closer and a HR-RBI guy. You could trade SB's and perhaps Petitte, who's shy on K's, for that power guy.

I don't make the deal b/c your younger players are your best players. Steen & Pavelski won't help much until your young guys have time to become top 6 F's and top 4 D-men. I'd try to trade with current contending clubs who might want Legwand, Goc, Jagr, ect for younger scoring punch and a goalie upgrade. I doubt Enroth or Neuvirth will ever be reliable NHL starters.

I believe the Wild see Harding as their #1 once Backstrom becomes a F/A at season's end. I don't think they'll re-sign him due to age and injury history. I've owned Backstrom in the past and I'd never draft him again b/c of injuries. For a keeper league I'd view the deal as Smith & Foligno for Kunitz. which doesn't work if I have Smith. Good luck !

I have a team with your league's stat catagories also. A couple of guys who helped me alot and might be available are Girardi for his Shot-blocks, +/- , and decent Pts..T. Ruutu & Brouwer for their Hits & decent Pts... A. Henrique for Pts. & Shorthand Pts,..Z. Smith for his PiM, & Hits...Many mgrs neglect those more obscure catagories, but they make a big difference. Good luck.

Starters like Mason will get you more wins and be more important if a 1 or 2 starter gets injured. Schneider should play more often this year and have some better overall stats. The only issue is the number of games you'll need from your # 3 if a 1 or 2 goes down...Tough call but I'd take Mason right now.

Also agree. Pacioretty is on his way, but not there yet. Elias isn't gonna hurt you w/ scoring, but has no PIM's.

He'll get hot and settle in. all players go thru highs & lows. Bench him until he shows something. Many hitters hate cold weather, so they don't ger rollin until June. It's been unusually colder in SoCal.

Heck yes. If you don't # 2 or # 3 will get him. If you have a need a solid player becomes available who can help it's like getting a free high draft pick.

Real solid roster. How did you land all those early round 1B's and get some top arms ? Your draft must've been nuts...I think you need to find some saves. Contreres, Walden, Burnett could be good sleepers.

I'm stuck with him also. I'm pretty sure the only teams allowed to drop him are private or custom leagues. Yahoo needs to speed things up with the IR status when a player's out.

Slide him in the IR or DL column and pick up another player. If you already have another guy on IR you're forced to choose who gets dropped, or not.
