the year his was drafted (last year) counted towards that contract. wanna give advice instead of just trying to correct something?

  • 12 team league - standard. 100 salary, auction draft.

    rodgers (23)
    evans (7)

they have 3 year "contracts", since i drafted them last year, i only have them for this year and next year they go back into free agency. if i keep both, i would only have 70 to go towards the draft. BUT...if i just keep evans at 7, i would have 93 for the draft. some of the other managers got about 80-90 to spend and stack their team.

some notable players that will be available in the draft:

    a.luck
    d.brees
    p.manning
    j.charles
    m.ingram
    l.mccoy
    d.murray
    j.forsett
    m.lynch
    c.johnson
    r.cobb
    aj green
    d.bryant
    d.thomas
    j.graham

    i agree.

you really can't go wrong with bell and dez or brown. but i would go with brown. i'm targeting bell or brown in an off-season trade.

when would you actually be taking him? auction or snake? i'm sure if you're in a snake draft you can spend a late round pick on him and everyone would be like, "oh yea!". in an auction, i doubt someone would spend on him and wait til waivers to take him.

Auction Keeper League - Who to Keep (Pick 3)

    by Mike Jul 21, 2015 10:01 AM

keep the last 3: ingram, matthews, and gronk. i'm not sure what your starting draft salary is, but i'm guessing 200?

you can probably get ryan for the same amount, maybe even cheaper. then you can splurge on an RB1 and then fill out the rest of your roster. i have gronk at 9, so i'm probably keeping him...check my other post if you haven't already...good luck, man!

easy fellas. lol. i'm thinking wilson and gronk - then that leaves me with 182 going into the draft.

THANK YOU! lol...just what i needed/wanted to hear. i was thinking the same thing. since i do have gronk so cheap, i can still keep AP or JC and draft a QB that puts up consistent numbers or find one on waivers. i'm thinking rivers or kaepernick, since no one will probably draft them. then get some solid tier 2 WRs. i actually still wanna get ODB.

let me throw this in there also...i have ingram (1), cobb (30), aj green (43), and forsett (league avg) - he went undrafted so he'll take the league avg. cost.

so i'm thinking maybe AP and gronk (64). JC and AP!? (120 too much), wilson and gronk (18 - most likely scenario)...

this will be our second year doing an auction, so it's hard to tell their draft strategy. some know what they're doing, some don't. but they go after studs pretty hard. but if i can get a QB1 and a TE1 and still have 182 going into the draft, i figure i can still end up with a RB1 and a WR1, with some solid picks to back it up. but then again, i could end up with #$%$. that's why i need y'alls advice! LOL

well we only get to keep 2...if i keep both AP and JC, that's 120. meaning i'll only have 80 going into the draft. this league is a bit wonky on their trades also. there's a reason i ended up winning last year -- it's because i won out on all my trades (and had a spectacular draft...LOL!!!) i also have aj green, r.cobb. i've been trying to get bell at 11 in a trade, but there's a hater telling the other guy not to do it...

so i'm definitely keeping gronk at 9...just wondering who the second one is.

bump...please help. i'm thinking if i keep wilson and gronk, i can still end up with charles or peterson AND still get beckham...but then i'll end up with studs and duds.

Allowing Off Season Trades in Keeper Leagues?

    by Ryan H Jul 16, 2015 12:18 AM

sounds like we're in similar leagues. but it is our first year of keepers, so we're still working out the kinks.

our keepers keep their auction draft value going into the draft and the managers draft salary is reduced...if this doesn't make sense -- gronk was draft at $9, so going into the draft, my salary cap would be $191 versus the standard $200.

for ours, we are deciding keepers a week prior to the 3rd week of preseason, then we will have our draft. any trades up to then are announced through a group message/chat. then at the draft, managers will draft their keepers at their value first.

for leagues this custom, it's hard for yahoo to keep up, so it means there's plenty of work for the commissioner.

the only way i've seen to do this, is to join a different fantasy football site, which is allows specific customization. unfortunately, these cost money versus the free service that yahoo provides.

hopefully this helps a little bit. at least to show what other leagues are doing.

    Who to Keep???

are those the only 2 players you're thinking about keeping on your team?

  • 10 team standard...2 keepers, 200 salary, auction draft.

    a.peterson - 57
    j.charles - 63
    r.wilson - 9
o.beckham jr. - 54 (using avg. cost in yahoo drafts - went undrafted)

the number indicates their salary they were drafted at last year and now going into the draft, which will reduce my salary (200) going into the draft. i am definitely keeping gronk - 9...which leaves me with 191 for the rest of my team. i can only keep ONE more player.
