Draft and Trade Talk Message Board

U should be getting an elite closer in the deal. I wouldn't do it for just those 3. U would need a Chapman, Andrew Miller, Holland, Kenley or someone elite in return along with something else. If u are really desperate and have a extremely stocked staff, its not going to kill u but it's definitely not enough. If that's the stat that's going to put u over the top and no1 else is dealing closers tho, it wouldn't be awful.
R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and OBP are offensive stats and W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP and OBPA are pitching stats.
Which side do u prefer??
TEAM A- Jose Bautista and Tyson Ross
TEAM B- Edwin Encarnacion, Kyle Schwarber and Alex Wood
So I'm in an 11 team roto keeper league where we keep 5. Stats are R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and OBP for hitting and W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP and OBPA for pitching. I was offered 2 deals from this guy who needs closers. My pitching is
SP's- Syndergaard, Arrieta, Salazar, Garrett Richards and Alex Wood
RP's- Zach McAllister (who uses an SP spot when it's not occupied), Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, Delin Betances, Roberto Osuna, Carson Smith and Shawn Tolleson.
I have a 9 in Wins, 9 in Saves, 10 in K (but have the best K per 9 by a lot so that will eventually be an 11), 7 in ERA, 7 in WHIP and 7 in OBPA.
Trade offer #1-
I get- Carlos Carrasco and Adam Lind
I give up- Aroldis Chapman (or Andrew Miller) and Melky Cabrera
Trade offer #2-
I get- Matt Harvey
I give up- Chapman and John Jaso (very valuable catcher in OBP leagues)
The guy I'd be trading closer to is 9 saves behind me in saves and would almost certainly pass me up but Carrasco has elite peripherals and should improve in 2nd half plus Lind in a beast. I think Carrasco is better than Harvey right now but Harvey has long term keeper value. I think I prefer A but not sure if I should do it.
So question is.... A or B?? Or neither?? And should I give up Andrew Miller or Chapman? I think Miller is the better player but the forearm could be an issue again! Such a dilemma. Please help.

Tyson Ross does have a FIP that's a full run lower than his ERA. He's pitching well and his slider is probably the best in baseball. Getting him as a skilled lottery ticket isn't that bad. Correa is the guy I really want tho.
11 team roto keeper league with R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and OBP as offensive stats and W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP and OBPA as pitching stats. We keep 5. Who wins this trade?
TEAM A GETS- SS Carlos Correa and SP Tyson Ross
TEAM B GETS- RP Aroldis Chapman, SS Francisco Lindor and SP Hisashi Iwakuma
Team A has Jose Reyes at SS and only Melancon and Brett Cecil as closers and Team B has 4 elite closers and Kevin Siegrist who could grab some saves if Rosenthal is unable to pitch with strained arm.
I think its a pretty fair deal but want to see what u guys think.

Carson Smith has elite stuff. I'm not judging him based on what he's done as the closer. I'm judging him on his stuff and what he's done his entire career. He strikes people out and induces groundballs. Thats a solid recipe for success and theres no way that Fernando Slobney gets that job away from him. Hes the 8th best RP according the SIERRA which is a great indicator of how good pitchers are.
But I digress. Thanks for the help in Correa trade lol

I wouldn't do it. Archer and Cole are 2 and 3 in fielder independent pitching or FIP which really tells u how good a guy is. Greinke is 23rd and his FIP is a full run lower than his ERA which means u can almost guarantee he'll see some regression. Frazier isn't good enough to have that big of a downgrade. I think u could probably just get it done by offering up Archer or Cole. No need to downgrade one of those guys to Greinke. Or could u just find someone else for one of them.
U do have a really solid staff so u could afford to trade one of them for Frazier. I'd say try Archer. Cole is better than him.

Vetoing it would completely destroy your and the leagues credibility. Gotta bite the bullet on this one.

Chapman is a top 40-50 player right now. Correa is nothing close to that right now. The fact that it's a keeper league doesn't matter because everyone is trying to win the 2015 championship. If I didn't have a surplus of elite closers, I wouldn't even consider this. I think you're a little mixed up bro. One of those guys that are more concerned with stashing keepers than trying to win championships.

Considering that Cano is absolutely DONE, I'd say A by a large margin. Springer and Bryant are both top 40. The only guy in group B thats even in that conversation is Kluber. Carpenter is prob borderline top 70 and Cano doesnt even belong on rosters at this point.

Cole, Gray and Hamels but the difference between Cole and Gray is pretty big considering Cole is better, in the NL and on a team that gives him wins.
So my SS at the moment is Wilmer Flores and/or Francisco Lindor. I have a stacked bullpen with Betances, Tolleson, Carson Smith, Aroldis Champman and Andrew Miller (DL). I've been trying to land a SS but the position is so thin that its been tough to pry anyone from any of the managers but the guy with Carlos Correa also has Jose Reyes and his bullpen is a disaster with only Cecil and Melancon.
I offered him Carson Smith for Correa straight up and he declined. Carson Smith is a stud with almost 11 K per 9, less than 2 walks per 9 and an ELITE 1.87 SIERRA. Thought it would get it done but I'm thinking about maybe offering him Aroldis Champman. Smith really hasnt been that much worse than him but I feel like the name brand of Chapman would get this deal done. Plus it is a keeper league and I could keep Correa for a long time.
So what do u guys think? Should I offer Aroldis Chapman for the superstar in the making that is Carlos Correa? Or should I just pray that Wilmer Flores and Lindor can combine for a decent year?
