Draft and Trade Talk Message Board

Come on, more fans watch the home run derby then the actual All Star game. What about the Sosa/McGwire battle for the record? That was probably one of the most exciting time in modern baseball. That chase restored baseball's fan base. Homeruns are what casual fan's go to see.

People are over reacting about draft spot Bryant went which for me was around 9th or 10th round. Thats really not that early. Rusney Castillo was drafted around that same time. Hopefully most of you at that point had your offense figured out. Taking a risk at that spot shouldn't hurt your team. I think the problem for most people is he is not available for pick up from the FA pool.

Hosmer had an effective rookie season, but his power was never at Bryant's level in the minors and has never improved past Billy Butler level. Hosmer is still young enough to improve but i dont see him ever being anything past Butler with some speed. which isn't terrible.

Not much speed on this team is SB not an offensive category? With only 1 Util spot i would of gone with someone better then Pollock. What are the offense categories if you dont mind me asking.

Tough, for me it all depends on which Kipnis shows up. For trade value i prefer EE/Altuve. , Miggy is the better over all hitter over EE, but Altuve is the more dependable hitter then inconsistent (often injured) Kipnis. I would rather have EE/Altuve, its the safer choice.

I know he is not a prospect what about DL AJ Griffin? I have him stashed on a couple teams for when he comes off the DL. Of course it helps if you have plenty of DL spots to use.

Agree with Giolito, Urias and Glasnow if you want to sit on a prospect for a late season call up or maybe next year. This year prospects Bundy, and Owens. I know he is not on your list but i also like Kyle Schwarber

Dynasty league i would want Kris Bryant, deep keeper league i would want Sale, one year league could depend on team needs but unless you hurting at 3b i still would want Sale.

Oh i completely agree, you can always find replaceable catchers at any point during the season. They rarely match their preseason value and what seperates the bests from the average isn't worth drafting 5 to 10 rounds earlier.
D'Arnaud and Zunino were both top rated catching prospects and it seems Zunino has the power while D"arnaud has the patience. I'd like to think one of them can break out this year. I think the only thinking separating Zunino from Carlos Santana is Santanas ability to be more selective and walk. I could see D"arnaud being something similar to Miguel Montero.

I really want to agree with you, I think Zunino wasn't ready offensively especially against right hand pitching. Problem is he had such a small sample size in the minors to see which is the true Zunino. He is killing the ball in spring training but that doesn't mean anything. But his power is there.
d'Arnaud wasn't doing anything until he was sent down last year. They made some adjustments and he starting hitting, I'd like if he walked more though.

I'd keep what you have, Profar is a question mark on whether he will ever be healthy, Kemp is another injury risk and production risk being in a bigger park, Zimmermann most likely won't be a National after this year so his home field advantage will be gone, and Benoit is easily replaceable.

No one would do that trade, you are not offering fair value for what you want in return. You would have to offer Kershaw and Cargo to get back Abreu/Kimbrell
