Good for A-Rod. Bad for the Yankees.
No one has ever said that A-Rod's not a great player. He is. Hands down one of the best in the history of the game. And he's nowhere near being done.
The knock on A-Rod is that whatever team he goes to usually gets better after he leaves. Part of that has to do with how much money he makes. If baseball didn't go insane after a few decades of free agency and A-Rod was only making $8-$10 million per year, things would probably be different. But the other knock on A-Rod is that he only hits when it doesn't matter. Like this year. The Yanks are the longest of longshots to make the playoffs and right after the month in which they were done in, A-Rod starts hitting.
In short, Alex Rodriguez will go down as one of the best individual players in the history of the game. But he'll also go down as one of the worst clutch hitters in the history of the game and he'll probably never be a part of a championship team unless he signs a discount deal with a contender in the twilight of his career. -

If you buy a laptop and something goes wrong with it within the first few months, do you freak out and throw a tantrum when the company can't fix it exactly when you want it fixed?
Come on man... We're talking about a few hour delay. Any company that serves as many clients and has to update as much information as Yahoo is going to have little glitches like this every once in a while.
For the record:
I bet you said the same exact thing last year. -

Flipping through the posts this morning, I'm seeing several of the same people who were going into conniptions last week when stats weren't posted as soon as they woke up.
A lot of you said you were done with Yahoo, so why are you still here? -

I'd take extra RPs over extra SPs any day. An extra starter or two will put you over your innings limit real quick.

If I'm trading A-Rod and a starting pitcher, I want to get a better starting pitcher in return. Substitute a different pitcher for Webb and it looks good to me.

I think Owings is a bit more polished than Cueto at this point.
I'm sure guys were watching tape of Cueto and figured him out after he was lights out in his first two starts. Pittsburgh knocked him around and he made some adjustments and came back with a solid start against Milwaukee. Today's start obviously wasn't too impressive, but he still kept his walks down. And there aren't too many pitchers around who could handle Hunter Pence, Lance Berkman and Miguel Tejada right now.
That said, I think Cueto should turn in a solid rookie year and finish in the top five in ROY voting. Hopefully Dusty Baker will protect Cueto and Edinson Volquez more than he did Kerry Wood and Mark Prior.
