Commissioner Corner Message Board
Wow, my number 1 pick (for goalies) and he has stunk up the place badly. I've had to make do with picking up backups and that has defintely worked, but now I have 5 goalies (after picking up Ranta yesterday). I think its time to drop Anderson, but should I? Here are my goalies.
Steve Mason, Marek Mazenek, Josh Harding, Antii Ranta.
I'm most inclined to drop Anderson however my thinking is that he cannot possibly get any worse, whereas Mazenek can't possibly get any better. What do I do and who should I drop? Carrying 5 goalies clearly isn't a winning strategy as its affecting the number of LW,C and RW that I can carry on my bench. Please help!

C - Kadri
C - Pavelski
LW - JVR
LW - Elias
RW - Seguin
RW - Vrbata
D - Byfuglien, Markov, Krug, Letang
Bench - Penner
it is foolish to drop Mason, because he has been on a run of good form. Saying that, Mazanec won rookie of the month, so if you don't pick him up, thne you are defeintely foolish! Find another player to drop though.
Perhaps this is over management but i'm not starting Marek Mazenec tonight vs Vancouver. Its a home game but with Shea Weber out, and Vancouver starting to heat up I'll give it a miss. I'm also going to start Craig Anderson tonight away to Florida. I've been benching Anderson for the last week so luckily i've missed out on all his 4GA performances (he's had 4 of them in a row). I mean he's been downright miserable but there is no way he can keep being this bad for much longer. Its has to turn around (I'm only speaking from a statistical point of view).
to be honest you should have dropped him weeks and weeks ago when he was getting scratched. i feel he has turned it around recently, so maybe keep him for a couple of weeks more and see how it goes. he's droppable right now, as there is a lot of depth in his position (RW).
I think your D is pretty solid actually. Ekman Larsson, Franson and Krug all pick up significant points, maybe not the best in terms of SOG or PIM but otherwise solid.
lundqvist is the number one in the game, you would have to defintley give up Hiller + a top forward like either Duchene or Datsyuk and even then that might not be enough (i'm not too high on Hiller). its not the worst trade offer but remember that for him to accept, he will have to drop a player. so the real cost for him is his number one goalie for Hiller, and then Voracek who is by no means guaranteed to repeat the half season last year. its funny, he bettered his goal tally for his career in half the number of games. he's a good sleeper but nowhere near good enough for him to give up Lundqvist..to be honest, your team is quite solid, maybe a little light on PIMS, i wouldn't trade away duchene or datsyuk, they're too good. how many teams in your league? 8 i'm guessing?
I give up Letang, I get Rask
My defence is Markov, Byfuglien, Voynov and Niskanen, my goalies are Harding, Anderson and Tim Thomas
his defence are Streit, Yandle, Enstrom and Garrison, his goalies are Varmalov, Rask and Niemi.
am i giving up too much?
not in the slightest. although he is a buy low candidate. what's your roster? he would also have to drop a player if you do a two for one, so i doubt he'd accept your proposal.
He's off to a slow start and I'm not a fan of dropping players so quickly but he has dropped to the third line, with less playing time, in addition, I could get Downie from Colorado who plays on the 1st line and is a candidate for 20/30 with 150PIMS..standard h2h 12 team leauge (please don't comment on my pathetic goalie situation unless you advise i drop one of them to pick up Downie). Or should I do away with Jako Silfverberg's good start and drop him for Downie. Thanks.

RW - Seguin, Pavelski, Clarkson
D - Letang, Niskanen, Markov, Voynov, Byfuglien

you're right, the draft results (first ten rounds went as follows)
stamkos, anderson, letang, lupul (a big reach here), Seguin, pavelski, byfuglien, thomas, kadri, marchand
i went light on goalies purposely and the reason is, there are maybe 4 or 5 ELITE ELITE goalies, the rest are just meh. i always find a good goalie on the waivers, someone who crops up out of nowhere..a couple of years ago it was Mike Smith for me, so i'm quite happy that i was able to get thomas..even he was a HUGE reach, and i'm sure i'll get blasted for it, but i just couldn't wait anymore, he could be huge.
