First ever fantasy draft, just trying to get some advice on how to better and criticism is welcome, thank youby Vic Oct 13, 2014 7:12 PM
you should drop shane doan, i'm pretty sure in a 12 teamer there are better RW options (depending on what stats you need). I think you need to beef up your Goalie situation, maybe package staal and neal for a good starter on a good team..good luck
you probably need more out of your D positions but with one trade of either one of your goalies, you could land a nice RW sniper or a better D and i could see your team contending depending on the stats
i like the team, i like Hertl and Nyquist, but i'm not sure about nugent hopkins, hopefully you got him in the mid-lower rounds..i think i'd try for a better backup goalie, than Scrivens, there must be a few lying around in a 12 team league...
please help with my, 20 team draft post!
your main weakness is goalies, as Toronto intend on riding Bernier, it will not be the same as last year where it was a 1a and 1b situation, Bernier is the starter hands down. But anyway, toronto's defence sucks so they won't get you great stats, Halak is a great goalie on a bad team and Varlamov is an ok goalie on a really good team. I'd say trade your excessive surplus of centers for a goalie. guys like price or crawford are ones to go for..
please help with my post (its the 20 team league one)

niemi won't have the starters job by end of season so that makes him a no. i would go with either pavelski or parise for sure.
thats a good point (carrying an extra defenceman), but unless that extra defenceman produces enough pims, or goals, or assits, or hits etc then i don't know how much extra output you are getting, rather than carrying another forward. last year i carried 5 goalies and had basically no extra forwards or defencemen (i had terrible goalies) so i guess it depends on what your team needs. ps i won that league. good luck!
i think that for a shallow league you could have had a better RW or perhaps a better second Goalie (As Andersen will be splitting duties with Gibson). But overall not too bad. I do like Hornqvist and Palat this year so you should be ok. I would drop Garrison in favour of a center or winger.
because i felt that rask is the best at his position by a far margin (in my opinion) and perry and ovechkin/malkin were not the best in their positions by a far margin (stamkos and crosby are). and because the goalie stats can only be won by goalies (duh!) you need to have the best goalies to win them. sounds really dumb but last year i had horrible goalies and it nearly cost me, this year i hope that i have eradicated that. obviously as a result i ahve to really hustle to get some good offence but i hope that i have done that.
This is to #$%$ Strong and basically all the guys out there who said my team wasn't good enough, I have backed up my statement which i made on april 12th, by winning my league. what does that say!
3rd time playing, lets have it critics!
1. Rask (G)
2. Sharp (C,LW)
3. Varlamov (G)
4. Bergeron (C)
5. JVR (LW)
6. Wheeler (RW)
7. Hornqvist (RW)
8. Byfuglien (RW,D)
9. Shatternick (D)
10. Marchand (LW)

12. O'Reilly (C,LW)
13. Andersen (G)
14. Vlasic (D)
15. Hejda (D)
16. Bieska (D)
I feel i'm a bit light on D, and I have few multi positional players. I also have a 5th defenceman but that was an autopick which i will drop for a C,LW,RW later.
its a h2h standard league, 12 players- list is in order of draft

D - Chara
C - Turris
D - Boyle
RW - Pominville
RW/LW - Saad
