Is Chris Archer worth a #1 waiver call?

    by Parmenion Jul 21, 2016 11:09 AM

these are the guys i'd keep for sure (ahead of archer)
goldy, cano, correa, springer, encarnacion, strasburg, carrasco. So the last keeper would be between odor, Harvey, Archer, Brantley, Peralta and you can also throw in Realmuto. If he rounds into form by the end of the season that would mean potentially keeping 3 pitchers which isn't advisable anyway.

Depends what you'd be picking him up for. i assume even if he becomes archer of old, you wouldn't keep him as you have at least 8 keepers on your team already. If you need the pitching badly this season then pick him up, bench him and hope he rounds into form. I would hold because i don't think you need him, and there will be plenty of better opportunities for waiver wire claims.

    Trade offer??

there are rumours that chapman and maybe also miller will be dealt. in contrast to Jah, i do think miller will be closing sooner rather than later. if the yankees trade chapman, miller will close. if yankees also/and/or trade miller he will close for another team, ain't no way another team in this galaxy will pay 45million to a guy who doesn't close in those high leverage 9th innings..my two pence! Ventura is a junk piece of scrap. I dumped him in my keeper. Royals may move him to the bullpen but he wouldn't be closing and since ur league doesn't count holds i'd pull the trigger on the trade.

Matt Harvey Dropped in a keeper

thanks for helpful advice Mike. I'm on the fence whether or not to keep Dozier,Desmond and/or Diaz. I should also have mentioned that if i also intend on keeping Bennintendi, which I do, then Harvey will cost me a 17th round pick to keep him (that's just how our keeper system works with free agent pickups). I'm defintely not in it this year as its my pitching that has been the downfall, so a back to normal Harvey no matter how farfetched that may sound, would be a fantastic addition to next years squad.

  • Im in a 14 team keeper league where we keep 8. I have the number 2 waiver. If i pick up Harvey I'd be committed to keeping him as he won't be playing this season. Is that worth doing?
I don't know if i even have 8 players worth keeping. is it worth it? I'd drop Tomlin or Peavy.

    C - Perez
1b - Soo Kim (yeah who?)
    2b - dozier
    3b - arenado
    ss - desmond
of - stanton, Naquin, Ezquiel Carrera
    util - Diaz
    Bench - Polanco, Alford, Bennintendi
    DL - Cain, Fowler
SP - Sale, Stroman, Peavy, Davies, Duffy, Moore, Kennedy, Tomlin
RP - Maurer, Johnson, Diekman, Thornburg,

    Trout trade offer

You're not getting enough back for sure. Don't do this deal. I like Springer but Sano is a three outcome player and Contreras we don't know enough about yet. This is a crazy trade and he is fleecing you. I don't know how a player with Trout, Harper, Stanton and Marte was clever enough to assemble them all on one dynasty team and yet how easily youre willing to give one of them up!

    Marte for Price

why is Marte not going to be kept next year? I would keep him ahead of Scherzer if you kept things as is. Marte for Lester is def better for you but I'd still keep Marte.

I'd def hold. I wish I had Marte. He's a stud, a 5 category guy with juice. David Price started unravelling last year in the playoffs and I'm not sure he's going to pull it back. You're pitching is solid enough, even with Harvey going on the DL. There are plenty of free agent pickups for starting pitching.

Actually my fellow fantasy leaguer, it sounds like you didn't read the topic properly, otherwise you'd know I was asking who out of my team i could trade for Kershaw. Looks like reading comprehension isn't at the top of your list of fortes. Wait, isn't that something you accuse people of? You're actually a pretty bad narcissist, you should seek help before it rubs off on more impressionable people. Your bitterness is also a bit scary. I feel bad for you now.

    JoFer is Jose Fernandez

I don't own Kershaw, I was hoping to acquire him whilst he's on the DL.

if you want to ask questions, ask them on your own topic, don't invade mine with asinine stuff, it doesn't help anyone. so what's your answer? i'm in a roto league and was wondering if i should offer the owner someone to take him off his hands. I'm in first by 30 points if that comes into it. only one DL spot though, which is occupied by Cain.

LMAO! you live in reality where you think Rosario + Taylor Trout/Harper/Betts/Kershaw/Iggy Azalea

  • Not a fan of the dodgers, but how sad that he's been ruled out till probably post ASB. What is he worth right now in a 10 team non keeper with more hitting than batting stats.
