    Auction Drafts Board display

    by Tal Sep 12, 2014 5:22 PM

    Bump

  • I'm having difficulty with the display of the auction Drafts for Yahoo Fantasy hockey. The bottom portion of the screen is not showing, where one can enter comments. I've tried two different browsers to see if chrome was the issue, but it also happened with Firefox. Can anyone confirm this issue, or advise me where to direct my concerns within Yahoo ?
    Thanks in advance, Tal

    Injured Reserve

To be honest, I'm not sure I understand the question. did your league allow 2 IR slots, or just 1 ? If your number of players on IR (officially in the NHL and in this Yahoo Fantasy League) exceeds the number of Commissioner set IR slots, your only recourse is to wait out the injuries, or drop one or more of the IR players and then pick up from the waiver and/or FA pools.
Personally, I'm still clinging to Nash on IR in many of my leagues, and have been forced to drop the likes of Skinner, Giordano, and others in order to keep competitive in the short term. Even where the league has 2 IR slots, I've been forced to drop a third IR player.

Throw in a few DTD injuries to complicate matters, and the Roster adjustments are being forced upon me regularly. tTere seems to be no end to the injury parade once again this season.

Hope I've helped answer the question. (It's just past 6am, and I'm only on my first coffee ;)

Changing rules after the season starts

I consider those who don't abide by Fair Play practices to be a form of cheating akin to monopolization and extortion. You are entitled to your opinion, just as I am to mine. Given that the trades have in fact been Vetoed, it appears I am not alone, though maybe not in the majority.

    Rask Deal

    by RTL Oct 17, 2013 11:41 AM

It should be noted that by giving a 2 for 1 deal, it appears to me like you also get to pick up a player from the FA (or Waiver) pools. You make out like a bandit here. Expect the cops to be banging at your door should the deal go through.
On a serious note, won't the other managers in your league vote this down, if they feel as strongly as some may feel ? As a BrUiNs fan I love Chara in real hockey terms, but he's not had a stellar year in the formats in which I participate. Your additional FA pickup in the 2 for 1 deal could be a very strong D man over the balance of the season, as there appear to be many gems out there (ie last season Wiercoch and Greene (Andy) seemed to come out of nowwhere.

    Should I drop Marchand?

    by JasonP Oct 20, 2013 1:36 AM

Nah, just a slow offensive start. The BrUiNs are just starting to roll, and Marchand will benefit from this movement.

Changing rules after the season starts

    by Grant Oct 20, 2013 9:53 AM

As much as I loathe those who draft Goalies (I play in Auction Leagues only) in numbers beyond a reasonable compliment, given that there are no rules that Yahoo has put in place to prevent such an occurrence, creating a commissioner imposed rule after the fact isn't justified. A gentleman's agreement should have been arrived at pre-draft to prevent such an occurence.
Having said that, what is happening in one league where the monopolizers of Goalies are trying now to leverage trades with the additional G compliment, such trade attempts are being thwarted by Vetos where to gain is such that the trade appears unreasonable. In my view, the original hoarding strategy wasn't one that can be viewed as 'Fair Play', and now the two who tried it must divest through Free Agency, and take the scraps instead of feasting on the weak. One has done so, the other, the League Commissioner, steadfastly refuses and keeps modifying his Trade Proposals in an attempt to make his strategy work. The sound of his head banging against the wall is music to my ears as we united in the Veto denials.

  • Rescheduled for Sunday evening, Oct. 20. No AutoBot bidding please, as we want commitment from the draft forward, and a live Auction Draft with humans is much more interesting and exciting.

Just how much would you pay for Crosby if you only had $200 to fund an entire 19 man roster in a 6 team league ?

  • League Name : Last Call for hockey Addicts
    League Number : 102682

19 man roster, 6 team league with a $200 Auction Budget

Just 3 openings left, please join if interested, available to be at the draft, and committed for the season.

Trade Question - What do you think?

    by faizan s Oct 12, 2013 1:13 AM

I don't think even the type of league format would deter me from making the ONLY decision possible hear. Take it and do what Joe Thornton would do if he scored 4 goals in a game. And add that Manager to your Christmas card list.

    the value of 3rd goalies

Thorough analysis in your reply. personally, I've always found a third Goalie to be more beneficial, though I've only participated in Points based, regular and Head-to-Head, and Head-to-Head leagues.

I goofed here while looking at one of the teams I have both Nash and Neal on, and wrote his team as the NYR instead of PIT. Mr. Perfect pointed that out, ignoring the essence of the response being that Yahoo does nothing until the team does.

It varies how quickly Yahoo reacts, but based upon my experience it can take a day or two. I have him on three of my teams, so I'm waiting with bated breath as he also happens to be on the Can't Cut list, which makes it even more of a handicap for some.

    No Cut List

I'm with you there, as I got him for $1 in one of my Auction Drafts. He may be taken off by Yahoo at some point, so keep an eye on the list. Same thing happened last year with the poor seasons Brad Richards and the Nuge were having, but if I recall correctly, it wasn't until mid-season that they were removed from the Can't Cut list.

I have him in one of my leagues. His status on Yahoo won't be changed to IR until the NYR put him on IR. He will likely remain on DTD status throughout this injury should the team not have cap space problems. I'm seriously considering dropping him from the roster at this point.
