What round did you draft Conforto in? He is a definite keeper candidate who is just 23 years old, batting 3rd and raking this season.

His UZR last year was -7.2. Not good. He is a year older. Not good. His range is declining. His 2014 defensive year seems the outlier. Yes, Diaz is not a good defensive SS right now - but neither is Peralta. And actually, at this rate, how much longer does Kolten Wong play against left-handers? His splits are brutal.
- TK from LA TK from LA Apr 26, 2016 4:49 PM Flag
Agreed. He is a very refined, professional hitter with a high-contact swing that remains in the strike zone for a long time. He also squares up the ball well. I am not sure that Peralta simply gets the job back, however, since the criticism of Peralta is his defense. If you play a guy for his bat where his defense is a bit iffy, why go with the guy who is not as good a hitter?

Public leagues are in fact basically a joke. As you have noted, maybe half the managers even pay attention to their teams. That means far too many good players are just floating on the FA wire, since the zombie managers don't bother replacing #$%$ with available talent. That makes the league much easier to compete in and win, since if you need a relief pitcher, there is a guy with 18 saves and a 2.75 ERA on the FA wire. Need wins? A decent #3 with double-digit wins is there for the taking. The leagues are a joke.

B ... Bautista is right with Miggy in R, HR, RBI and Salazar is better than Garcia. Therefore, though Miggy's BA will far outpace Bautista's, that difference is not enough to overcome the difference between Salazar and Garcia.

Received very low value for Tulo. A starting SS in Toronto's line-up, and that park, will far outproduce Garcia. And as others have mentioned, it sure as heck is not like you dealt Tulo for a guy Lou Gehrig or Cal Ripken health.

It's too bad you can't trade with yourself. You could deal the horrible Michael Taylor to the foolish you for Bryce Harper, or Paul Goldschmidt, or Carlos Correa. Too bad ...

Ben Revere is NOT in the plans of any MLB team ... except the one that traded for him and had him set to start in CF before he was hurt.
- TK from LA TK from LA Apr 22, 2016 1:22 PM Flag
Pablo Sandoval sucked for 126 games last year before finally being replaced in 2016, due in large part to injury. So are you saying that Michael Taylor may be relevant next year if Revere sucks all of 2016 and then is injured next year? Because that would be the analogy.
*cough* get your facts straight *cough*

Just find a circle, and you have the other element. And your joke of a 10-team public league with 10 hitters playing? Run the numbers, gas-bag. 30 teams, with 8 players rolling every day, 240 position players available, only 100 start in your joke league, so you have to somehow find position players ... where 140 are sitting on the FA wire any day of the week.
- TK from LA TK from LA Apr 13, 2016 10:49 AM Flag
Yep, once again called out to join a competitive league and wilts. You should change your moniker to "Flaccid Public League."
- TK from LA TK from LA Apr 12, 2016 5:01 PM Flag
Here is the point ... I will explain it in terms that a grade-schooler can understand so that you catch on.
You pimping your team's offense is laughable, in a league where top-level starters are sitting on the FA wire due to the minimal number of teams and paucity of starting positions.
Competitive leagues force managers to find value other than by picking up 25 HR, 80 RBI guys off the FA wire. And the statement that you never played MI or CI is absurd. So what? You also never played major league baseball, so who gives a rat's #$%$ what you played?
- TK from LA TK from LA Apr 12, 2016 10:07 AM Flag
"Non-existent MLB positions"?? So you think fantasy baseball is real, is that it?
Wow, talk about dumb. Go back to your 6-team public league with dozens of starting position players on the bench, and tell us what a genius you are for picking up Todd Frazier on the FA wire.

What a joke ... no CI, MI, only 3 OF spots, and 2 Util spots.
What about my invitation for you to join my NL-only, 10 team league with CI, MI, 5 OF spots and 1 Util next year? No? Can't find a starting 1st baseman on the FA wire so you pass?
- TK from LA TK from LA Apr 11, 2016 11:10 AM Flag
Have you ever played in a league with more than 2 active managers? Any league that has one manager own Boegarts, Story, Kinsler, Caprenter, Goldschmdt, and Votto is a joke. Every guy but Story is a top-25 selection, so having five of them means your league should have 5 teams.
Play in a real league and see how you do. I can invite you to my NL-only auction league next year. How about it?

/s Mr. 10-team Public League with no CI or MI spot
Join a real league and see if you can spot undervalued talent, instead of joke leagues where starting SS's are on the freaking FA wire.

Apparently you don't look at "162 game averages" for Mr. Trout: 118 R's, 34 HR, 98 RBI's, 28 SB, .303/.396/.557.

NL-only, 10 team, auction league, featuring MI, I got him for $16. Yes, bats are THAT hard to get in an NL-only auction league with MI, CI, 5 OF spots and a Util spot. Glad I got him so far ...
