24-team, FREE, deep, competitive H2H redraft league

    by Stu Feb 29, 2016 11:04 PM

Go to Fantrax site and click on "Join League (FREE)" and then "Private Commissioner League" Enter the league ID and password:
    League ID: bosox
    League password: baseball

  • This is actually a Fantrax league, so you have to register there, but if you want to try a different site, Fantrax has some great options.

Basic setup: you get 25 players on your team: nine hitters, 12 pitchers, and four bench players. There's a maximum of five starting pitchers, so most teams go with five SP and seven RP. You can change your lineup daily, so if you have injuries, you can immediately replace those players without having to wait till the end of the week.

See the full details on scoring below, but the scoring is very deep, with lots of Sabremetrics-based, advanced stat categories, such as DICE, OPS against, WHIP, outs recorded, home runs per nine innings, inherited runs stranded, etc. for pitchers, and slugging percentage, weighted on-base average, OPS, runs created, etc. for hitters. We also have holds, relief appearances, and saves for relievers.

Feel free to join and then have a look around the league before deciding whether to stay. No hard feelings if you delete your team.

The live draft is Sunday, March 20 at 10 AM ET, so if you can't make it, you might not want to join this league. Of course it's possible to pre-rank your players and doing auto pick draft, but most people like to draft live.

We play multiple matchups per week, to balance out the schedule so that everybody plays everybody else at least 2-3 times during the season. The playoff system is a four-team battle for the championship over four weeks, with each match up being two weeks long. This makes it less random.

  • Yahoo doesn't allow the setup I like, so this league is on Fantrax. We have room for a couple of managers...10 total. There is a live draft on Sun., Feb 14 at about 10 AM ET, but you don't have to be there. Just prerank your drivers before. The draft order balances the teams, so that if you get the 10th pick, you also get the 11th, 21st, and 31st. If you pick first overall, you get the last pick in every other round.

Scoring setup is below: basically the scoring setup gives about 46% of the points based on finishing position, about 24% to laps lead, 18% to qualifying, and about 10% is taken away from teams whose drivers DNF and/or don’t qualify.

Register at Fantax to join (free and only takes a minute). Then login and
go to “join a league” (on the menu on the right side),
    click on “Listed Commissioner League,”
click on the “NASCAR” menu tab along the top,
find our league by name (Black and Red #3), and
click on the “Join” button at the right.

My id/mail here is Monarch752 Reply here or contact me there.

Scoring setup: basically the scoring setup gives about 46% of the points based on finishing position, about 24% to laps lead, 18% to qualifying, and about 10% is taken away from teams whose drivers DNF and/or don’t qualify.

The scoring is category based, so your "points" are actually "wins" that count towards the standings. If you win 65-35, you get 65 wins and 35 losses in the standings—NOT the usual one win in the standings. This rewards you for dominating victories and gives a true representation of your team's quality.

  • This is the RARE H2H category based league. This rewards you for dominating your opponents. Each category win counts in the season stats as an individual win, so it's much fairer than the usual winner-takes-all points or most-categories-is-a-win leagues. Modified-snake draft makes draft much fairer for teams picking #4-#10. Scoring breakdown is about 46% for results, 24% for laps lead, 18% for qualifying, and 10% lost for DNF and DNQ. You get 4 drivers, and all four start every week.

Basics: this is a free, H2H redraft league (no keepers, no dynasty) that’s going to have about 10 teams. Every team plays two matchups a week, every week of the season with the top 4 playing for the championship at the end of the season. Our live draft is Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10:00 AM EDT. Be sure to read below for all the details about our rules, the setup, scoring, playoffs, draft, rules, etc. Each team will draft four drivers, and there will be NO duplicate drivers. (If the league grows quickly, I might add other divisions that do have duplicate drivers, but they wouldn’t play teams with the same drivers until the playoffs.)

One key point is that we DON’T use the usual fantasy snaking draft. Our draft snakes for the first two rounds and then locks for rounds 2-10. In other words, the 2nd round will be the opposite of the first, but then the draft order is going to be the same as the 2nd round until the end. Based on a 10-team league, this means that the team that picks 1st overall is going to pick 20th, 30th, and 40th, and the team picking 10th is going to pick 11th, 21st, and 31st. (This balances the league.)

Scoring setup: basically the scoring setup gives about 46% of the points based on finishing position, about 24% to laps lead, 18% to qualifying, and about 10% is taken away from teams whose drivers DNF and/or don’t qualify.
