I think you should drop Covington for George.

I guess Im in the minority here, but I actually draft balance or actual skill sets over best player available. 3 out of 6 of my teams are either 1st or 2nd because of that feeling. Anyhow, Im not sure if my idea is contradictory to how I feel, but my idea is to keep the others and lose George. There is only one thing that he brings to the table that you wont be able to get in the redraft and that is scoring. You may be able to pick a scorer back up as your first pick in the redraft. Bledsoe certainly helps in that facet already.

1st place Team. Going into Playoffs

Unless you need the few assists per night he can give you, Id drop Bogut for Adams. Adams has a higher upside with Serge out for a month or so. Wright will lose time if Len comes back. I dont know about this Hamilton guy but if you want to gamble he may be a better get than Adams. Id probably get rid of Lou Will for Hood since Lou kills your fg%.

What would help you the most? Rebounds and blocks or 3s and steals?

I dont see why Duncan cant put up his current production if he plays. He may get some nights off here and there against lesser opponents like the 76s or Lakers. I would think Knight is the least valuable player to pair with Duncan. The manager doesnt want to get rid of AD so he can make the playoffs. He wants to get rid of AD because his injury scares him. Thats an awful lie. Duncan in his prime was the best. Even now hes awesome. He cant hold a candle to ADs talent now, though. If thats the case, who can blame him for being scared about this injury? All it takes is another shoulder injury and hes probably finished for the year. If you are in a good playoff shape, Id really think about this trade. ADs injury vs. Duncan not playing. Which do you think is the lesser of the 2 evils?

    Guard play

Looking at their last 5 games played, Id pick Clarkson or Calderon for assists or Bradley for steals. I once owned Calderon on one of my teams and it seemed to me that his stats were better without Carmelo. That makes sense because Carmelo is such a ball dominant player. Calderon has averaged a steal a game in his last 5 as well. To me, I think only Clarkson, Bradley, Galloway and Calderon should be considered out of the players you listed and what you are looking for. Calderon is my pick out of this bunch.

Youve got Lillard, Lawson and Holiday as your good pgs. Smart mightve gotten there is Isaiah Thomas wasnt in Boston now. Having Durant, who gets decent pg assist numbers, helps but a loss of Lillard hurts you at that position. Especialy with an often hurt Jrue Holiday. I think youd be better off sticking with what you have. We might soon put the label of injury prone on Davis, so that could be another reason why you should stay put.

Is Jrue Holiday worth a flier?

Marcus Smarts stock has certainly taken a hit but I dont think Id risk the roster spot on Jrue. The NO Pelicans were notoriously mute on updates of his condition last year when Jrue was hurt so I wouldnt have him fill my roster spot when you probably will hear nothing on Jrues status on if or when he will play again this year. Id try getting Isaiah Canaan and then Norris Cole as PGs instead. Hopefully you can still get one of them.

What type of value should I expect?

I see Nik V. and Conley as the only combination that could get you what you want. Alot of fantasy basketball players probably undervalue Conley because hes not as big a name as some of the other pgs. I may give you Lillard or Irving for that duo but not if I had the other 3 pgs you listed. I wouldnt list their ranking in trying to trade them. That seems like youre desperate to get rid of them. It seems a bit amateurish as well.

I forgot that The Nets got Thaddeus Young so that may hurt Plumlees value a little so my bad.

I had Augustin on 5 of my 6 teams, so Im bummed that he got traded to OKC. I doubt we can expect any more out of him than Jackson had behind Westbrook. On the flipside, I own Gobert on most of my teams, so the Augustin trade doesnt hurt as much. Im just crossing my fingers that Canaan has success in Philly since hes my Augustin replacement. I only have Dragic on 1 of my 6 teams, but Im glad that he probably will have better stats now. With KG out of NJ, Plumlee should have some uptick in value. I own him on most of my teams, so thats sweet. All in all I suppose it wasnt nearly as bad as losing your star player for the year. Your 1-4 pick, but that Jackson/Augustin trade stings a bit.

I think Canaan has more upside than either 2 that was mentioned. Thats who Im rolling with after dropping Augustin. I think what weve seen with Henderson is what we can expect while Canaan is taking MCWs spot.

That or Isaiah Canaan is worth consideration, too. The wheels of The 76s should be his now.

    Drop Burke or Beverley?

    by Space7 Feb 18, 2015 5:24 PM
Steve Steve Feb 18, 2015 7:57 PM Flag

Both have awful fg%s. Burke gets you a bit more assists. Beverly gets you a bit more steals. Which do you need more of? Burke also has a better ft% which probably wouldnt matter much once you get Howard since his ft% kills teams. I guess Id drop Beverly for Howard.

    ibaka trade

Having Ibaka on one of my teams, I can tell you that he has been a little disappointing this season imo. Who told this guy to take up shooting 3s? Hes ok at them but that shouldnt be his game. The blocks are there but I dont think as much as last season. I really like Rubio. He should only get better as he gets completely in game shape. Assists, steals and a fair fg% (about 42%). Unless you had 2 more stud pgs, I wouldve kept what you had. Deng is a nice player to have as well. If I had a look at your roster, the trade mightve made more sense, but I dont think its as clearly a win as you think it is.

Hes too messed up to take a chance on. Hes not available in any 6 of my leagues, but I wouldnt get him even if he was. Henson might be good to have if hes available, though. Mason Plumlee as well.

I didnt select George because he doesnt do enough in all categories to satisfy me. If you were to keep him, Id try to trade him and Drummond for Harden. I doubt that package could get you Durant, Lebron, Curry or Davis, but, hey, shoot for the stars right?

I think you have a decision to make. Blocks or FTs? I think itd be easier to win blocks, so I will go with that. Howard is great with that but hes missed time, so do you want to risk that for next season? Id keep Conley, Bledsoe, Favors, Drummond and Vucevic. Maybe you could then try to trade Conley/ Bledsoe and Drummond for Harden possibly. In the redraft, select Hassan Whiteside (as long as he isnt someone else' keeper) early and you then get your blocks back left by Drummond and then some.

The package youd be getting looks really nice, but since youre good on bigs, Id stay put. Curry is a big reason why you are winning assists, steals and 3s and youd likely start losing or coming close to losing those categories each week. What Id do is keep my eyes open for a good big to become available in fa and switch out Hawes for that guy. Hawes value is very little if anything once Blake plays again.
