So far, Buxton looks like a bust. But with that said, the Twins minus well play him regularly the rest of the year. As long as they commit to him and give him positive feedback maybe he figures things out. That, and maybe get his eyes checked lol.

Maybe, but in a one year league if you are missing out on a duffy, or shoemaker, or bauer then there is a high degree of opportunity cost as well.
I see a lot of posts about SP Call ups and rookies and yahoo writers continually advocate for grabbing these guys as soon as the are called up, so I thought I'd post some stats. Below are rookie stats for all the top SP in the yahoo game - GS/W/K/9/BB/9 and ERA:
Kersahw: 21 /5 /8.4 / 4.3 / 4.26
Arrieta: 18/ 6 / 4.6 / 4.3 / 4.66
Fernandez: 28/ 12 / 9.7 / 3 / 2.19
Sale: 0/ 2 / 10 / 3.4 / 2.79 * Used as RP
Bumgarner: 18 / 7 / 7 / 2.1 / 3.00
Cueto: 31 / 9 / 8.1 / 3.5 / 4.81
Lester: 15 / 7 / 6.6 / 4.7 / 4.76
Thor: 24 / 9 / 10 / 1.8 / 3.24
Strasburg: 28 / 15 / 11.1 / 2.7 / 3.16
Scherzer: 30 / 9 / 9/1 / 3.3 / 4.12
Three useful guys in Strasburg, Thor and Fernandez, one RP and 6 guys who at the least were average or worse. I have no doubt that 1 of the pitchers that are rookies this year will be worth it, the rest probably not though that does not dim their prospects at all for future seasons even if they struggle this year. I'd just as soon speculate on a duffy or Shoemaker as opposed to a rookie in SP...for one year leagues anyway.

If you are in the running this year and need the Saves and ratios it's reasonable. IF you are out of it, I might hold off, or at least look to trade him for a bat instead.

The man could never stay on the field (gibson), so his 162 game averages are moot. Yes, he had 5 good (not great) seasons from 83-87 with the Tigers, but that's it. Trammel's slg % was .415, Rollins was .418, which adjusted for the era they played in means Trammel was much better hitting wise, and so was Whitaker. Both good defensive players (rollins and Trammel). Anyway, Whitaker and Trammel were both stars for longer in Detroit and deserve more credit IMO.

Well, if you don't like WAR, The Tigers didn't have a losing season from 1979-1989, and can you really name me one other player during that time that was a star? Jack Morris but if you don't like Ryan then Morris is tough to love. Gibson? Always hurt....anyone else? Someone had to keep all those teams afloat.

I don't see the need to add Duvall, especially at this price. You have Forsythe on your bench and given what he's done the last year + I think you are fine with R. Davis as your only real backup OF

good team. Yes move Pomeranz, you can always pick up good pitching prospects even in a league this size. Someone Like Beede, Guerreri, etc. I would target someone else other than Beltran though. Can you get more of a steady guy like Calhoun for Pomeranz and maybe a prospect like Kohl Stewart?

I would think he has a good case, but if Trammel can't get in, Tim Raines can't get in, Bagwell can't get in, Whitaker can't get in then I doubt Rollins will. HOF voting needs a complete overhaul.

I'd do it. Cody Reed's upside is cole hamels, he'll never be a top pitcher but he may be 40-50 rank SP at some point. Bregman could be huge. It's a risk, but one worth taking IMO

First - maybe, perhaps some younger players like say, Grichuk and a top prospect and another prospect.
SEcond - no seems fair. Bradley in particular has struggled.

I'd try someone else. Reed is struggling a bit in the minors and Odubel has good value. You should be able to get a decent 1b replacement for him later in the season or next year.

Odubel, he plays everyday. Rua is viewed as a platoon bat. Not sure why that is, but like guyer and others he hasn't batted once this year against a RHP.
