'Pollock batted IN FRONT of Goldschmidt and therefore gave Goldschmidt increased RBI opportunities' - So Pollock has affected his RBI total, which is what I said above. It shouldn't affect anything else.

This is patently false. there have been many many many many articles debunking the notion of 'protection' and the like over the years. One players absence will never have an effect on a players performance on Avg, HR, OBP, OPS, etc. Yes it will have an effect on R and RBI, such as poor freddie freeman on the braves who have scored all of 140Rs year to date. The diamondbacks conversely are 5th in MLB in overall runs scored in spite of goldschmidt . In spite of that he hasn't been awful, just a low average that will come up and a slight drop in power not concerned about him

I can see the point of Donaldson, but at the same time that guy is getting back a similar aged player in fowler if not quite the same caliber and a pretty young conforto so why veto?
- Slappytheclown Slappytheclown May 25, 2016 7:58 PM Flag
I own him in one or two leagues, he's been on the bench for a few weeks. Like Price I suspect it's something mechanical as it's really the wildness that has killed him more than anything with BB and HR. I would think this was obvious and someone in that Mets organization better be going over video from all angles and reviewing past video to compare. But it's the Mets so...probably not.

yeah, back to career averages. Still not 'elite' because of the K rate, but plays up better in H2H and possibly can expect 3.0-3.5 ERA and some W's going forward.

target someone who needs OF. Maybe you could take a lier on Devon Travis? Maybe Frazier? anyway good luck, if I was trading with you i'd have interest in sano but not puig, just fyi

I expected him to put some things together more. Sadly he has not improved by underlying metrics so I'd be inclined to expect more of the same - 3.5 ERA, some W's, some K's, nothing outstanding.

you could get a top flight 3b for arrieta or sale perhaps, it's your weakest position with harrison. just a thought.

When you type 100 words per minute and have 4 monitors it's quite easy to cross reference this stuff. And I used current yahoo rankings i.e. how far apart a player was from the yahoo ranking vs. their current season ranking. Phillips I believe checked in around rk 200, which is pretty close to his yahoo pre-season rank thus not undervalued. Simple.
Regardless, no one gets much more than 60% max of these types of things right so don't feel bad I'm not saying I am any better. just pointing out your 85% success claim was way off.

He strikes out too much, it'll be 30% plus in MLB. Unless you are stanton or chris davis type power tough to live with that K rate and produce. he's 26, and he has 4th OF drew stubbs type upside.
- Slappytheclown Slappytheclown May 19, 2016 4:50 PM Flag
these are not the same. Frazier has 12HRs, an 18% K rate and a .210BABIP. Upton has 2HRs, a 27% K rate and .354BABIP. I will let you figure out who is still a star and who's fastly approaching scrub status.

my best guess is they break him in as a backup at 2b/ss, getting 2 to 3 starts a aweek. Lemahieu has been fine at 2b. Ultimately they try to trade him but that will get very complicated with his contract. Of course, maybe they look to package him with Cargo and/or McGee and get a team to take on all that salary? Rockies also 20-19 which complicates trading multiple players...so for now Reyes will play a backup role and prove he's healthy.

He looks similar to 2013 except he won't steal 44bases, maybe 20 more. average will continue to creep lower. 1HR in May so far, 1SB, and 1BB. He'll have more value than I thought, but he won't finish top 10 at SS.
