Keeper help (this is a tough one)

I have to say, the way Dan broke it down makes it look easy lol

Overall, I really do agree with him, mostly because there is no real argument to be made against his picks

Leaving out JvR should really be dependent on what actually happens in Toronto though, he could end up in an even better situation for all we know, but if you had to make your decision now... Plus, you really don't need another LW option

Giordano has to be kept no question, over the last two seasons he has exploded and Calgary seems like they'll only get better whereas Phaneuf... well, i just don't like him, though his physicality would be a nice boost, he doesn't put up the same kind of points, it's a lot easier to pick up a dman that gets a bunch of hits/blocks/etc from FA than it is one who puts up points like your other options can, and with Weber/Buff/Giordano you'll still get solid physicality to start with

That all makes sense, definitely helps to have your support there and I agree, Schwartz is really starting to roll, if he sticks with Tarasenko and they both get even better... and I know I should keep Fleury but as a Flyers fan it hurts to need him lol

    Thank you!
I'll take a look at yours in a moment

Ok, so I'm in a 12 team H2H points league that's been going on for about 5 years now-- points are awarded as follows:
    G (3) A (2) PPP (2) SHP (3) GWG (3) HIT (.15) BLK (.25)
    W (5) GA (-1) SV (.15) SHO (5)

    My team is:
    C: Kopitar/Backstrom/Fisher
    LW: Ovechkin/Schwartz/Versteeg
    RW: Stamkos/Toffoli/Stone
    D: Kronwall/Josi/Ekblad/Klingberg/Hamonic
    G: Fleury/Gibson/Hammond (Andersen/Mason on IR)

Each year we get to keep 5 skaters and 1 goalie, but only 3 of the skaters may be repeated from last year's crop which for me were (Ovechkin/Kopitar/Stamkos/Kronwall/Schenn) so basically I'm not keeping Kronwall lol

My choice is pretty easy, until it comes down to the last skater and maybe even the goalie.
I'm obviously going Ovechkin/Stamkos/Kopitar/Backstrom... but then I'm not sure if I want to take Schwartz, or maybe grab a dman like Josi/Ekblad

And then for goalies, I've had Fleury since the beginning and he's been solid, but Andersen is also a beast and Anaheim seems to be a more well-rounded team... but they have Gibson too

To give you an idea of player's point totals and relative value:
    Ovechkin - 269.3
    Stamkos - 207.05
Kopitar - 163.65 (looking at this makes me want to reconsider keeping him lol)
    Backstrom - 227.65
    Schwartz - 164.05
    Ekblad - 125.8
    Josi - 176.95
    Fleury - 260.85
    Andersen - 223.85

Any help or insight would be much appreciated!

The league does reward players with hits/blocks also, so grittiness is a plus... If Hartnell gets PP time in Columbus that'd be huge, but EKane could always breakout and make me regret passing him over... I think Burns is supposed to be only D this year due to Boyle's departure, no clue what yahoo will do about that though, thanks for the thoughts

  • Team:
    C: Stamkos - Kopitar - MKoivu
LW: EKane - Lucic - Hartnell - BSchenn
RW: Ovi - Nyquist - Yakupov
    D: Kronwall - Burns - Enstrom - Martinez
    G: Fleury - Luongo - Andersen

I can keep 1 goalie and 5 skaters
I kept Fleury, Ovi, Kopi, Yakupov, Kane, and Parise last year and can only keep 3 of the same skaters, since I traded Parise and Kane it's a non issue

    My thoughts:
Fleury, Ovi, Stamkos, Kopitar... then idk
That gives me two great centers and a RW, with a decent goalie (hopefully), so maybe LW/D for the last two?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you would like my opinion on your own dilemma I'd be happy to give my two cents.

    Thanks!
