Nobody said he was a 1st or 2nd round pick. But I guarantee if he is available in the 4th round, I will certainly be tempted to push the button and Jump. In the 5th, I will definitely reach. No, I wouldnt expect 220 innings, 240 K's, but what is wrong with 200 & 190 with excellent ERA and WHIP?

    Keeper Advice Please

I drafted Trout and Harper, when my keepers were so pathetic, and I had nothing to lose, so I played with scrubs for much of the season. I never recovered from Bonds, Sosa, and some others.
I got McCutchen and gave up a heavy package of Dickerson, Carpenter, Soler, and probably a closer or 2 to a team in contention. I lost the trade overall, but for a single keeper, I crushed it.
I got Springer last season, for Chapman straight up. I got Bryant, because I missed out on Sano and Buxton.
I got Correa last season but dropped Seager out of my minor league spot. IF ONLY....
Wainwright was a pickup while he was injured a few seasons ago in a package deal again, with a contender, sending them what they needed.
I got Sale is a super package deal as well.

I am a trader. When the time comes, I will overpay to get what I want or need. Either I am chasing keepers, or I am chasing a championship. Considering the players I have given up over the years, your head would spin. Read your team, your chances, and act accordingly. Be a Buyer, or be a Seller, just dont be a settler.

  • Due to the injury not involving his arm, he has had a full year of Rest. The concern going into last season was burnout. That problem has been alleviated with nearly a full season off. I anticipate another stellar season from this stud pitcher. Rehab will have him with stronger legs. The rest will probably leave his arm at full strength, and buy him another 3-4 years of greatness. Despite his injury costing me the title last season in one league, it may have bought me a couple extra years of his service on a keeper league.

Judge Wainwright as you see fit, and hopefully, you pass by him, and I get him on my squads.

Who Do I Take After Trout??

On the turn, if you have the option of Abreu and Fernandez, I would say go for it. To cover your 1B with such a solid force, and to have the best SP not named Kershaw, would be quite nice if they stay healthy. Unfortunately, dont expect W's from a Miami SP.

It wouldnt be a mistake taking Springer. I am not ready to put Marte up that high YET.

Think about this. Hamilton automatically wins you the SB category. I keep him, even if I am not a fan. You have enough solid hitters to compensate for his POOR AVERAGE. As long as it looks like he will remain in the Major Leagues. Still gotta keep Hanley, and be sure your first couple picks are pitchers. I'm not a Dozier fan, but I guess if you are, maybe keep him over Hanley.

(I would take Machado and Goldschmidt over Harper and McCutchen!!!) Nice build lineup. compares well with my Trout, Harper, McCutchen, Springer, Bryant, Correa, Sale, Wainwright!

    Need 1 owner - 14 team roto

considering another team on my list. Wouldnt mind checking it out.

  • 15 teams, and I have a stud lineup with my first 8. Losses count for pitching. OPS counts for hitting. Regular 5x5 stats as well.
Guaranteed keepers, unless I find a trade partner for Springer or McCutchen.

    Trout (CF)
    Harper (CF, RF)
    McCutchen (CF)
    Springer (CF, RF)
    K.Bryant (3B, RF)
    Correa (SS)
    Sale (SP)
    Wainwright (SP)

    Matz (SP)
A.Miller (RP) ------ lost closer gig, but high K, low ERA/WHIP
    Wong (2B)
    Calhoun (RF)
    Mesoraco (C)

I know I can get Mesoraco in one of my first 2 picks if I choose, so he isnt considered very heavily. Last season, I got 1 point in K's and W's, and 14 or 15 in all other categories. Still finished 2nd, because of those 1+1 results. Learned my lesson that the strategy of fewest LOSSES, most SAVES is risky, even in a 15 team league.

I lean towards Matz, unless I can get Springer traded for a player like Greinke, Bumgarner, Price, deGrom type SP. I need about 1200 K's on season with unlimited innings. 15 teams, deep rosters, 9 keepers. I just need ONE MORE KEEPER. Nothing else needed. Thanks..
