Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I've been offered T Burke and V Oladipo for my B Beal and H Barnes. It's standard H2H scoring, and it's a team I took over last year and am really working to rebuild.
We have the option to keep 7, but if you keep less, then you get early draft picks.
Currently, my keepers are K Durant, A Davis, A Drummond, B Beal and J Teague (and I'd get 2 early picks since I'm under 7). If I made this trade, I would keep A Davis, Durant, Drummond, Teague, Burke and Oladipo and have 1 early pick.
I've been offered Votto, Trout, and Lincecum for my Braun, B Butler, and M Harvey. It's a 10 team, standard 5x5 cats, H2H keeper league where we keep 4 year to year (no restrictions/no rising prices). What are your thoughts?
Here's my team right now:
C- S Perez
1B- B Butler
2B- D Murphy
3B- C Headley
SS- J Segura
IF- M Machado
OF- R Braun, J Upton, J Ellsbury, S Marte
UTIL- E Encarnacion
BN- L Berkman, H Ramirez
DL- J Reyes
SP- M Harvey, J Samardzija, M Moore, Y Gallardo, J Fernandez, R Dempster
RP- S Romo, G Perkins, J Henderson, K Jansen
It seems too good to be true, but I wanted to get some outside opinions. I've been offered Trout and Votto for my Harvey and J Upton in a 10-team keeper league, standard 5x5 H2H, keep 4 year to year.
I have to bite, right (my current team is below)?
C- S Perez
OF- Braun, J Upton, Ellsbury, S Marte
UTIL- E Encarnacion
BN- Machado, H Ramirez
DL- J Reyes
SP- Harvey, Samardzija, M Moore, Y Gallardo, M Estrada, J Fernandez
RP- Romo, Perkins, J Henderson, K Jansen
Well, I am a Granger owner (unfortunately...but we have IR slots so it's not hurting me to keep him), but if George keeps playing well/improving, I feel like it's going to be hard for IND to reign him in just because Granger's back. If anything, it could make him even more efficient I think.
12 team, H2H, keeper (keep 7), standard cats plus double-doubles
I've been offered T Lawson and P George for my Deron Williams. I would drop J Richardson.
Here's my team:
PG- D Williams
SG- D Wade
SF- R Gay
PF- P Gasol
C- D Howard
G/F- K Bryant
F/C- P Millsap
UTIL- A Afflalo, J Lin, J Calderon, D Collison, B Bass
BN- P Patterson, T Harris, A Miller, T Gibson, J Crowder, J Richardson
I've been offered Gronk for my D Martin and R Wayne. It's a 12 team, PPR league (0.5 per reception).
Start 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE and a flex
QB- Vick, Schaub
RB- McCoy, McFadden, Richardson, Martin, J Rodgers, B Bolden
WR- B Marshall, B Lloyd, Wayne, Antonio Brown
TE- Pitta, A Hernandez
Talent-wise, I'm getting a big boost, especially because of my depth at RB. I just worry that I could be too thin at WR as I'd only have 3 rostered and would likely be running out FA-pickups on bye weeks (FA pickups like Barden, K Wright, D Avery quality)
Thanks man. I guess the only thing I worried about a little was HOU resting Foster if they lock up a playoff spot, especially since Tate's proven himself to be a quality backup.
10 team, standard scoring, H2H
I've been offered A Foster for my either R Mathews/D Murray and L Fitzgerald.
Right now, I have Rice, Mathews, Murray, and R Bush as my RB, and C Johnson, S Smith, Fitzgerald, and Holmes.
We start 2 RB, WR, and a RB/WR, so right now, I'm starting Rice, Murray, Smith, Johnson, and Fitz.
If I make the deal, I'd roll with Rice, Foster, Mathews/Murray (whichever I don't deal), Johnson and Smith.
I am stacked at WR with S Smith, Fitzgerald, and Calvin Johnson and really need a boost to my RB (starting Rice and P Thomas).
Would you rather deal Smith or Fitzgerald away for a RB?
10 team H2H, standard scoring, standard rosters
I don't necessarily see anything too terrible about it. When healthy, I'd much rather have Side A, but with Reyes hurt (again), it almost boils down to Tulo for Kershaw, and depending on needs, it's a justifiable trade.
Even with Reyes hurt, I don't think it's a veto-able deal by any means. And if this deal was proposed and accepted before Reyes hit the DL, then, in my mind, there's no reason at all to veto as it's the owner's responsibility to check on the health status of his players. If the Tulo owner made this deal prior to Reyes hitting the DL, then he can't complain, he didn't do his due diligence. That and injuries are a part of the game, they can happen to anyone at any time.
So, in short, in my mind, nothing wrong with the deal.
Like I said earlier, ordinarily, I agree. But is there a certain point in the year where needs take larger priority? Like in my case, there's more points for me to gain in the pitching cats than the hitting cats.
Thanks guys, seems like an overwhelming no.
Now this is asking a lot, but in terms of value (and strictly value), what would you be willing to offer for Haren, Lincecum or both?
This is my team (10 team, standard 5x5 roto, nonkeeper)
C- C Santana
OF- Braun, Kemp, Hamilton, Ackley
BN- G Sanchez, Lind
SP- Lester, Greinke, Shields, D Hudson, J Zimmermann, S Baker
RP- Kimbrel, Axford, Storen, Chapman
Really? I mean, I generally follow the rule hitting over pitching, but there's part of me that feels like I'm at a point in the season when needs become more "important" than value. Since it's roto, winning a cat by 40 means nothing more than winning it by 1 or 2.
That said, I do get what you're saying, it's easier to stream matchups/ride the hot pitcher than it is to stream matchups with hitters. And there's more quality pitching available in FA in my league than hitting.
