Except that in dynasty leagues they do, because they become the point scorers. If you don't ever make a play for at least some, you perpetually play catch up.

He is currently unable to play due to his pending court date. Then at the resolution of that, expect a suspension. And then if he comes back this year, expect he gets traded. That and he has been declining. Not worth waiver claim.

Betts is the best player. Giolito upside is WELL beyond Newcomb, they really are not close if we are talking what they are projected to become. Brantley is injured and no for sure rerurn date is available (and Betts is also much younger 23 v. almost 29, so defintiely a factor in dynasty). Lindor is very good, but his power last year wasn't in line with his minor league numbers, and he's best known for defense. Don't get me wrong, I like Lindor, but the other side is just better. Plus with the wealth of young SS arriving and on the doorstep, the position isn't as shallow as one would think (and a lot of those options I think are as good as or better than Lindor). Hence to me, not that close.

No one is saying they accumulate any stats as minor league players. No one is saying go all in and load up on all prospects. But you seem to fail to understand that the rosters in these dynasty leagues account for minors guys and are much deeper than a normal league. You aren't wasting roster space on a minors guy. If you don't understand that never having any prospects in one of these leagues puts you at a disadvantage, you clearly don't PLAY these leagues and thus should probably not answer questions regarding them. Besides, Brantley is injured and aging. Really this amounts to a one for one ML player trade, and Betts is better than Lindor and far more valuable, now and later.

Yeas, but it's 6 years of age, with Betts firmly on the side of "can get better" and Brantley firmly on the wrong side of 27...and injured with no known return date. If he misses 2-3 months then this is an awful deal.

Rendon carries a HUGE injury risk. Altuve is very good, no denying it, but not get Goldy back good. You are also seemingly ignoring that 2B is quite deep this year. Sure, Altuve is the best, but after he and Gordon, there is a LOT of the same thing.

I'd grab a pitcher assuming a snake draft, as there is a good chance no stop starters left when it gets all the way back to you.

I think Schwarber was a bad pick (just too much chance to lose a bunch of AB to platooning and late game replacement). Brantley also (injury). Rest of it honestly not bad drafting.

Definitely light on power I think. Light on SV, but SV are cheap. I would say at least for the IP end, you have 4 guys who should be 200IP guys.

The hole is that RP can get blow saves easily. 8th inning guy comes in with a 2 run lead and 1 out in the 8th and coughs up lead, that's a blown save. So your lack of saves means you can only ever be negative.

Except you won't have a 12 in blown saves, because any RP can blow a save by coughing up a lead of less than 3 runs.
