I took the risky route and did not use my waiver call hoping Archer would make it through and he did. I picked him up off the wire.
The question now is whether I should use the waiver call on Bregman (SS Hou), who will be called up today. I would drop Valencia as Bregman is supposed to be at 3rd at least to start so he would fill that gap in my line-up should he produce. I am leaning heavily toward grabbing Bregman.

Yes, in my league that is the way it works. That is why I hang on to that #1 like gold whenever I can get it.

I am in first place in ERA and WHIP, close to 1st wins. Mid pack in Saves and Ks and am a good 65 inning below pace to use up my innings. Lead in R and RBI, midpack HR, SB, in 9th pace in Avg. I tend to use the #1 waiver call to grab a future star. I got Correa and Springer that way. So this is opportunity fire to get someone of high quality, no real need.
I have been sitting on the #1 waiver call most of the season waiting for an appropriate drop or call-up. Archer was dropped and his waiver period ends tomorrow, is he worth the #1 waiver call or should I wait for a high-end call-up? This is an 11 team 8-player keeper league. Standard 5x5 Roto. My team is;
3B Valencia (3B, LF)
CF Springer (CF. RF)
Util Odor (2B)
Util Encarnacion (1B)
Bench WMyers (1B, CF), JBaez (2B, 3B, SS), MSaunders (LF, RF)
DL Brantley (LF, CF), Peralta (LF, RF)
SP Strasburg, Carrasco, Hill, Hammel, Happ, Lackey
RP Osuna, Rondon, Kintzler
DL Harvey, JRoss
If not Archer, who (i.e. the best call-up coming up this year) would you hold the waiver call for? Or would you take the shot Archer clears waivers? Thanks.
I have been offered Stanton for Encarnacion and Odor. 11 player standard 5x5 Roto league keep 8 players. OK, he threw in Steve Pearce as well but I don't count him as having any value long term.
Stanton is in a terrible slump, EE is also not doing well but Odor is having a good year when he's not suspended. With this team would you take the deal?
RF Springer (CF, RF)
Bench Duffy (2B, 3B), Burns (DF), Myers (1B, CF)
DL/Suspended Brantley (LF, CF), Peralta (LF, RF), Odor (2B)
SP Strasburg, Lackey, Ross, Hammel, Hill
RP Osuna, Gregerson, Rondon
Benched until he gets his act together Harvey
This trade has been proposed to me in my 11 team standard 5x5 roto league, 8 player keeper. It seems a fair trade but I do not think it will be in my best interest as I have Odor at second already, afetr he gets back from his suspension.
3B TShaw (1B, 3B)
CF Springer (CF, RF)
RF CDavis (1B, RF)
Util Encarnacion (1B)
Bench MDuffy (2B, 3B), Souza (RF), Burns (CF), Brantley (LF, CF-on DL), Peralta (LF, RF-on DL)
SP Strassburg, Harvey, Lackey, JRoss, Hammel, Hill
RP Osuna, Rondon, Gregerson
DL Carrasco, DeSclafani
I'm a bit beat up right now but should be better soon. Cano will raise my average and SB but hurt RBI, R, HR.
Should I take it or pass, for some reason I am leaning toward it even though it will help him more than me I think.
