Yeah that is the issue with Ellsbury. Personally, I'm high on him and I don't want to throw him away in a trade unless I'm getting a stud but I can understand why most people would disagree with me. And I guess I need to decide whether I'm overrating Ellsbury or not when proposing a trade offer.

agreed. I do believe outfielders are easier to find off FA than middle infielders are so I will try for a SS although like you said, may be hard to acquire one due to rarity of owning one. If not maybe I'd try for a better corner infielder. I think the issue is I'm probably higher on Ellsbury than anyone else is haha. Thanks for your help!

Well the hitting starting positions are 1 slot for C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, 3 OF slots, and a Util slot for a total of 9 hitting slots. Myers is on my DL though. I've been iffy on Dozier but if he has started hitting like this since last August like you say, I guess I should be fine with him at 2B although someone is considering trading Kipnis to me for him.
I was considering making a package deal such as Ellsbury + a RP + Zimmerman for a stud middle infielder. I do see your concern with starting pitching but I figure with Kershaw and Strasburg, I should be okay with the middle infield being a much bigger concern.

the 6 RP is definitely interesting. If I were to go with this strategy, do you still think I should go with adressing the SS, 3B, OF issues? And actually do you think I could target a 1B as I could just slide Miggy to the 3B position if need be

That's actually an interesting idea, I've never looked at it that way. I normally go 3 closers, 2 hold guys. I had Melancon who became a closer so I thought I should trade a closer and pick up another holds guy. You think my team is fine as is and I should drop a starter for holds?

There are 2 SP slots, 2 RP slots, and 3 P slots. Do you think I could get 3 if I got rid of Trout, Hammel, Dozier, and Ellsbury?

It's a 12-team league actually, it's 8-teams in the playoffs. Someone above suggested I try dangling Ellsbury + a RP + Zimmerman for a stud, I suppose I could try this for an upgrade.

I agree but there's a chance Soria or Cishek are dealt at deadline so why not try and acquire a reliable RP? Not to mention I can try to get an extra player in a trade or off FA

So I'm guessing you think it isn't worth it to trade 2 closers for 1? And is what you are suggesting a 3-for-1 offer for a stud?
I'm in a 12-team H2H league with 7x7 cats with batting (R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP) and pitching (W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB) and my trade deadline is a month away. I'm trying to tweak my roster, I'm currently in 3rd place (8-team playoff). Does this look like a championship team?
C - Mesoraco, 1B - Miggy, 2B - Dozier, 3B - Ryan Zimmermann, SS - Asdrubal Cabrera, OF - Ellsbury, Werth, Holt, Calhoun, Wil Myers SP - Kershaw, Strasburg, Cobb, Hammel, Mike Minor, Dillon Gee, RP - Kenley Jansen, Joakim Soria, Melancon, Cishek, Wade Davis
If this isn't a team that can win a title, what are my weaknesses and maybe strengths I can use to trade to upgrade the weakness? I think I have too many closers so I'm trying to trade 2 for 1 and use an extra roster spot to pick up someone off the FA. I'm considering making the following offers:
I get (Aroldis Chapman OR David Robertson) and give up Soria + Cishek
I get Sean Doolittle and give up Soria + Cishek
I get Mike Trout + Neil Walker + Glen Perkins and give up Dozier + Ellsbury + Hammel + Soria + Cishek
Note: If he rejects, I'll try Perkins for Soria + Cishek
So would I be addressing weaknesses with these offers? And are these good offers to make? Thanks!
