I'm not in any hurry but if I can improve my depth and get two studs, I'd do it. You don't think I'm getting enough back in asking for Upton and Carpenter?

In a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) and currently in 3rd place. Trying to make a trade to better my depth to take the leap from inconsistency to a true contender. Batting cats are R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP and pitching stats are W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB. Here are some potential trades I can make:
I get Donaldson + Votto and give up Miggy + Zack Cozart
I get Justin Upton + Matt Carpenter and give up Miggy + Cozart
My team is C - RMart, 1B - Logan Forsythe, VMart, 2B - Phillips, 3B - Miggy, SS - Alcides Escobar, Cozart, OF - Brantley, Blackmon, JD Martinez, SP - Chris Sale, Cueto, Arrieta, Haren, Pomeranz, Lance McCullers, Hector Santiago RP - Huston Street, Drew Storen, Santiago Casilla, Jeurys Familia, Joe Smith. Are either of these trades good moves for me to make? On the flip side, am I asking for too much for Miggy? Thanks!

Thanks for your help dude. I actually agree with you on Cueto but alot of these analysts have Cueto as a top 10-15 SP so I thought I was overvaluing my player. I'll cancel the deal... I hope I can get trade 3 though. I feel the depth of Altuve + Bryant more than makes up for Miggy

Well I'd pick up an SP off FA as there are always guys that go off late in the year. And I saw Kershaw as a super ace, but you bring up good points so maybe I'll back off that deal.

I offer trade 2 because I figure Kershaw has the elite level upside to win a matchup on his own when he's back on track. You think I shouldn't take the deal then and just keep Cueto and Arrieta?

Altuve imo is the best of the three. Followed by Cano in 2nd and lastly Kipnis. Can you please answer my question about blockbuster trades involving elite talent? Thanks!

Thanks for your analysis, you bring up good points. I do think I've put myself in a position to win but of course, no team will be perfect as you said. I agree with your concerns about the Tigers but I was just taking the best players available at the time...I could trade them if anything I guess. I've been discussing the following trades with owners, do you think they are worth taking? Trade 1: Cano + Greinke for Cueto + Blackmon + Harrison ...this owner puts ALOT of stock into last year's ranks so he's looking at it. Trade 2: Rendon for Blackmon + JD Martinez or finally Trade 3: Kershaw for Sale + VMart + Blackmon. Do you like these moves or should I stand pat? I feel like 1 could be a steal and 2 potentially based on Rendon's value when healthy from May onwards.
Also, I'm not too worried about Werth on the DL...I'll just stash him there and pick up a sleeper or ho FA. Dropping him isn't too big a deal either as I grabbed him late in the draft. As for RP with more K power than Smith, I've only seen Neshek and Mike Dunn but hesitant to add them because Smith gives me a shot at grabbing holds...I'm not sure Neshek and Dunn can with the teams they play for.

I drafted the following team and was projected to win the league by Yahoo but I don't necessarily trust them so coming here for some second opinions. It's a 12-team H2H league with batting stats R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP and pitching stats W, SV, K, HLDS, ERA, WHIP, K/BB. Here is my team:
C - Russell Martin, 1B - VMart, 2B - Josh Harrison, 3B - Miggy, SS - Danny Santana, OF - Brantley, Charlie Blackmon, JD Martinez, Werth, SP - Sale, Cueto, Arrieta, Danny Duffy, Jesse Hahn, Collmenter, RP - Storen, Huston Street, Santiago Casilla, Joe Smith, Joakim Soria.
What do you think of this team? Is it a title contender? If not, what are my weaknesses and what strengths can I use to address them? I have some interest by some managers for Cueto thinking he can repeat last year so I can shop him if need be.

I get what you're saying and I actually agree pitching is deep which is why I'm not focusing as much on it this year. He just has a different philosophy where he likes infielders, pitchers, outfielders since he believes OF are the deepest position. And given he wants at least 10 pitchers, I'd hope he gets a roster that he likes. Nonetheless, thanks for advice

It's not a money league, we play for pride. I genuinely feel terrible for the guy, especially because he usually attends the draft each year.

Yes my friend....I actually want every team to field a competitive team and he makes the draft each year. I don't want him to draft a terrible team because Yahoo decided to give him players that are overranked or because he got stuck with 13 batters.

I'm commish of a league and feel bad for one of my friends who can't make the draft because of brutal work schedule. I told him I'd try to give him advice on preranking players and was wondering how to help. He has the 3rd overall pick in a 12-team H2H snake draft. There's 16 starting positions (9 batters, 7 pitchers) and 4 bench spots....he usually likes having at most 1 batter on the bench and the rest on the bench.
I figured perhaps ranking his 4 preferred players out of every 10 players Yahoo has pre-ranked and perhaps excluding all hitters ranked between 200-250. Would both these steps ensure he has a lineup he can be happy with given he'd like 10-11 pitchers? Thanks!
