  • n a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) and currently in 2nd place. I think my team is solid but I feel like packaging a C or RP eligible player to improve my infield and was wondering how I could improve. Batting cats are R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP and pitching stats are W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB. Here are some trades I'm looking at.

    Trade 1
I get Adrian Gonzalez and give up Beltre + Russel Martin

    Trade 2
I get Buster Posey and give up Beltre + Kyle Schwarber

    Trade 3
I get Joey Votto and give up Beltre + Schwarber

My team is C - RMart, 1B - Miggy, 2B - Joe Panik, Brandon Phillips, 3B - Beltre, SS - Ian Desmond, Odubel Herrera, OF - Brantley, Trout, Kyle Schwarber, SP - Chris Sale, Cueto, Jordan Zimmermann, Danny Salazar, Joe Ross, Luis Severino, RP - Huston Street, Jeurys Familia, Alex Wilson (DET), Jean Machi, Junichi Tazawa. Any of these trades a good idea for me? Thanks!

I feel like I could package Rus Martin, Schwarber, or a closer with someone to gain an improvement and consolidate depth for a stud at a position I'm weak at. So how could I improve? Thanks!

Blockbuster deal involving Trout and Blackmon

Well I actually ended up offering Casilla + Storen instead of Familia to make it 4-for-2 and he took it

I see your point man but I think with the two other aces plus Salazar, I can take the hit. Trading Familia does hurt me though so I might look at sending a lesser RP but I can't see him taking the deal unless I throw in Familia

I'm inclined to agree with you but look at the guys that disagree below and Blackmon is pretty underrated. Plus the dropoff from Arrieta to Zimmermann is huge

  • In a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) and currently in 2nd place trailing by 9.5 games. Batting cats are R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP and pitching stats are W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB. What do you think of this blockbuster deal for Trout?

I get Mike Trout + Jordan Zimmermann and give up Charlie Blackmon + Jake Arrieta + Jeurys Familia

My team is C - RMart, Hundley, 1B - VMart, Miggy, 2B - Joe Panik, Odubel Herrera, 3B - Beltre, SS - Ian Desmond, OF - Brantley, Blackmon, Schwarber, SP - Chris Sale, Cueto, Arrieta, Salazar, Joe Ross, Luis Severino, RP - Huston Street, Drew Storen, Santiago Casilla, Familia, Alex Wilson (DET)

So do you think it is worth it for me to make the trade for Trout or am I giving up too much? On the flipside, let me know if you think it's a steal for me. Thanks!

How do you feel about making trades?

I wish more managers were like you tbh. I'll never claim that someone makes too many trades. Sometimes my league has managers who never trade unless it's a lopsided move which annoys me. They improve through FA instead. To me, trading is a big part of the fun of fantasy sports. I'll complain about someone making too many moves and have a weekly/annual add limit but no limit on trades

Who do you like more and least ROS? Thanks!

    Reddick or Granderson

Who are the rest of your pitchers and where are you in the standings? I feel like you're getting ripped dealing Syndergaard with his upside for guys that could be FA. This year I'd probably take Reddick but you should easily be able to get more for Syndergaard unless it's a league where you don't keep players in the rounds they were drafted.

It is not a keeper league. Would you do Deal 1 if I threw in Storen instead of Street?

  • Nandan Nandan Aug 4, 2015 7:55 PM Flag

In Trade 1, do you think I'd be better off trying to package Schwarber + Storen instead? Or do you think Puig won't bounce back this year. As for Trade 2, what if I asked for Mike Leake to be added to the deal? And in Trade 3...do you think asking for Jordan Zimmermann to be added to the deal is enough for me? I will comment on your post...thanks alot.

Proposals....I feel like I'm lowballing in Trade 1 and 2 but in the 1st trade...the manager is desperately slipping out of a playoff spot so he might take the deal. Trade 2, I'm hoping I'm not giving up too much. Honestly I'm unsure if I'm undervaluing Schwarber.

Is this team a title contender?

Yeah good point and I will definitely only trade closers if I can get a huge improvement on offense. That was my idea all along and I may dangle Schwarber as a trade chip to see what I can get.

    Deal Hanley?

    by DOMINATION Jul 26, 2015 1:47 PM

Take my answer with a grain of salt as I've never participated in a dynasty league...I'm just trying to imagine what it'd be like when looking at these deals.

Trade 1: It's close but I don't think I'd do it unless you're sure you'll be competing for a title this year (which doesn't seem likely based on how your team seems to be middle of the pack). I just don't like the idea of trading a 1st round pick unless you're going to contend. Also he keep in mind Bautista is probably the better keeper but he'd likely only a bit higher on draft boards next year so you'd be trading a 1st round pick + Hanley for a guy who'd be drafted earlier in the same round as Hanley. Not worth it imo unless you're a contender.

Trade 2: I wouldn't do it...Hanley is an elite SS and those are hard to come by. I only make that trade for an elite OF which Cespedes isn't.
