Draft and Trade Talk Message Board

Yeah good point and I will definitely only trade closers if I can get a huge improvement on offense. That was my idea all along and I may dangle Schwarber as a trade chip to see what I can get.

Take my answer with a grain of salt as I've never participated in a dynasty league...I'm just trying to imagine what it'd be like when looking at these deals.
Trade 1: It's close but I don't think I'd do it unless you're sure you'll be competing for a title this year (which doesn't seem likely based on how your team seems to be middle of the pack). I just don't like the idea of trading a 1st round pick unless you're going to contend. Also he keep in mind Bautista is probably the better keeper but he'd likely only a bit higher on draft boards next year so you'd be trading a 1st round pick + Hanley for a guy who'd be drafted earlier in the same round as Hanley. Not worth it imo unless you're a contender.
Trade 2: I wouldn't do it...Hanley is an elite SS and those are hard to come by. I only make that trade for an elite OF which Cespedes isn't.

I'll definitely look into dealing a closer but can't be sure of going after 3rd...I feel Beltre will bounce back and Miggy will return before the playoffs. OF I agree I should improve.

Yeah agreed, I like Schwarber as well but if I could sell high I would. What do you think he's worth right now? I can see what you mean with 3B as well but as I think Beltre will bounce back and Miggy should be back for the playoffs, I'm not too worried since I should easily make the playoffs at this stage. As you mention I'd be willing to package a closer or starter (likely for OF help) as well.
In a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) and currently in 2nd place. I think my team is solid but I wanted opinions on whether or not it is a legit title contender and how to improve. Batting cats are R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP and pitching stats are W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB.
My team is C - RMart, Hundley, 1B - VMart, Miggy, 2B - Joe Panik, 3B - Beltre, David Wright SS - Ian Desmond, OF - Brantley, Blackmon, Kyle Schwarber, SP - Chris Sale, Cueto, Arrieta, Haren, Danny Salazar, Joe Ross, RP - Huston Street, Drew Storen, Santiago Casilla, Jeurys Familia, Joe Smith.
I feel like I'm stacked with SP and have wanted to move a closer as I feel I only really need 3. I also wonder if I should consider trading 2 batters for one to consolidate depth for a stud but if my team is great all-around, guess there's no need. So do you think this team is a title contender? And if not, what are the weaknesses and strengths and how could I improve? Thanks!

Fair enough but I feel like if he slips a bit, he has too much upside to pass up on playing in the Saints offense....especially in a PPR league. What you think of the other names?

Mike Evans is projected a 3rd round pick which is too high to be a sleeper imo. Plus I felt his fantasy pts were padded last year by TD catches and I'm unsure if he can get that this year. Torrey Smith I agree could be a sleeper. McFadden is so injury prone that I'm unsure he can make a difference. I don't know if I think Manning, Ryan, Benjamin are busts based on where they're going in drafts.

Sleeper for me were meant to be guys that are undervalued at the draft and could outperform their ADP. What do you think Spiller or Woodhead in PPR and Agholor? Busts were vice-versa so I meant that OBJ wouldn't be an elite WR again this year with Cruz coming back but I still expect him to be a WR1...just not a top 10 pick. Murray should definitely be a solid option at RB but with the dropoff from last year, I feel like he's more a late 2nd/early 3rd kind of pick.
Trying to compile a list of sleepers and busts for the upcoming season and wanted advice on whether you agree or not and have names to add. Here they are:
Is this a good list? Are there any improvements to be made? Thanks!

My only issue with trade 1 is whether or not I'm getting enough for Miggy. Hoping Upton, Carpenter, and Wacha continue to play this well because if they regress, I'm screwed lol. But your points on Upton are why I feel he can stay a top 25 player.
Trade 2, I felt I don't need 4 closers so sell high on em and try to upgrade on 2B.

In a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) and currently in 5th place. Trying to make a trade to better my depth to take the leap from inconsistency to a true contender. Batting cats are R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP and pitching stats are W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/BB. Here are some potential trades I can make:
I get Justin Upton + Matt Carpenter + Michael Wacha and give up Miggy + Joe Panik + Dan Haren
I get Jason Kipnis + Kenley Jansen and give up Brandon Phillips + Charlie Blackmon + Jeurys Familia + Santiago Casilla
My team is C - RMart, 1B - Duda, VMart, 2B - Phillips, Joe Panik, 3B - Miggy, SS - Alcides Escobar, OF - Brantley, Blackmon, Wil Myers, SP - Chris Sale, Cueto, Arrieta, Haren, Lance McCullers, Colin McHugh, RP - Huston Street, Drew Storen, Santiago Casilla, Jeurys Familia, Joe Smith. Are either of these trades good moves for me to make? Thanks!

I'm not in any hurry but if I can improve my depth and get two studs, I'd do it. You don't think I'm getting enough back in asking for Upton and Carpenter?
