Better Keeper: Kopitar or Jimmy Howard?

    by Nandan Mar 1, 2015 4:54 AM

Yeah another good point, the year I won I had 3 solid goalies. It does mean a lot to have solid number 1s in net who are reliable while looking through free agency for those sleeper Cs. With McDavid coming in next year for example, he could be someone I could try and grab in a mid-round to take a flier on and see if he's worth the hype. And I'm just not a fan of guys that are only C-eligible unless they have a lot of value

Better Keeper: Kopitar or Jimmy Howard?

If I can get a great return out of Weber, I might actually do it. You bring up a great point, the year I won my fantasy league I didn't take my first Dman until round 6 or 7. With the year he's having, it's very possible I could get a lot for him. So I'd shop him but if I can't trade him, would you rather keep Kopi or Howard? Kopi seems like the right choice but I wonder if he'd have a bounce back year

  • In a 12-team H2H league with skater stats G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG and goalie stats W, GAA, SV%, SHO. I'm going to miss the playoffs so looking to rebuild and trade who I won't be keeping for a draft pick. My first 4 keepers are Patrick Kane, Lundqvist, Couture, Weber. Who would your 5th be? Kopitar or Howard? I'm planning on trying to deal who I won't keep but hard to guess who'd be a better option next year.

Getting Kane for Bäckström or Stamkos?

    by Olle Feb 28, 2015 9:30 AM

I'd trade Backstrom but not Stamkos. Stamkos is an elite fantasy option and is likely top 4 next year behind Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin.

Backstrom and Kane are more or less the same but Kane has multi-positional eligibility which makes him the better option imo

What to do with David Krejci

Agreed 100%. I'm surprised someone would give him Krejci for Bob

You still do it, as BJD said you take it right away. Bobrovsky likely owns the net in CBJ and though they aren't a great team, he's still a solid netminder. This trade heavily favours you

If you could get Bobrovsky for him, you do it right away imo..especially if you need a goalie. Bobrovsky is a decent option in net and Krejci may not be there for you when you need him in the playoffs. I doubt someone would give you Bobrovksy for Krejci though.

    Keeper League Kopitar-Backes Trade...do I take it?

    by Nandan Feb 20, 2015 3:45 AM

Well it's 5 keepers so Stepan and Jagr would likely not be kept. Long-term, it's essentially Backes for Kopi. I just don't want to throw Stepan away for nothing, I'd like some return back.

    Keeper League Kopitar-Backes Trade...do I take it?

since it's a keeper and I'm mainly interested in the long-term value, maybe I could also try Kopitar for Backes 1-for-1.

  • I get: Kopitar + Jagr and give: Backes + Stepan

It's a 12-team H2H league with 5 keepers and before the trade, I was keeping Patrick Kane, Lundqvist, Couture, Weber. My 5th keeper was either Jimmy Howard or David Backes. I'm out of a playoff spot so likely not contending and looking to improve long-term, I feel Kopitar would be a solid 5th keeper over Backes and Howard. What do you think of the deal? I have an issue with getting Jagr because I feel I should ask for someone like Pominville instead plus Stepan actually has been a top 50 player on average. Do you think I should take it regardless?

hits and blocks aren't counted in this league, skater stats are G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SOG. I'm losing in PPP a lot but I'm actually decent in other categories

Yeah Lundqvist may be out for the rest of the fantasy regular season so I'll have to try and make the playoffs without him. I feel like there's bound to be guys that get hot down the stretch that I can ride for a while and even if there aren't, it's a keeper league and Backstrom would be a much better keeper than Backes or Hornqvist for next year in my opinion.

I don't consider Toews elite but Tavares yes...I see what you're saying though. I just offered Hornqvist + Backes for Backstrom and am hoping someone bites...I actually feel Hornqvist could be a top tier asset like he was early in the year (as a top 25 player) but I can't wait for him and with it being a keeper league, Backstrom would be a great keeper. I'm hoping the guys in goal get back soon but Lundqvist may be out a while.

  • I've been stuck in 10th place of a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) for virtually the past few months. I'm going to be 8 points back of a playoff spot after tonight and it's frustrating lol. I mean I've won 4 of my last 5 matchups but they've been close scores, not blowouts so I'm not moving up. Here's my team

C - Patrick Kane, Stepan, Ribiero, RW - Backes, Hornqvist, Zuccarello, LW - Couture, Lucic, Perron, D - Weber, Hamonic, Klingberg, Vatanen, G - Jimmy Howard, Talbot, Emery, Lundqvist(IR), Andersen(IR)

I know this team started slow but the offense has come around. Now my goalies are getting injured. Am I coming up with excuses or is this team truly bad? It's a keeper league with 5 keepers and I'm likely keeping Kane, Lundqvist, Couture, Weber and either Backes/Howard/Hornqvist. What's the verdict?

    anyone?

  • I'm in a 10-team standard H2H league (6-team playoff) and currently in 5th so trying to make some adjustments to take my team to a title.

My team is PG - CP3, Lillard, D. Rose, DJ Augustin, SG - Beal, Gerald Henderson SF - Batum, Paul Pierce, Khris Middleton, PF - Ibaka, Jordan Hill, Favors, C - Brook Lopez, Nerlens Noel, Brandon Bass. What are strengths and weakness? Is this team good enough to win the title?

I also got offered this trade...I get LaMarcus Aldridge + Oladipo + Lillard + someone else. Is it good for me will the edge I lose at PG and assists be too much to overcome? And which player would you suggest throwing in if I take the trade? Thanks!

  • Standard 12-team H2H league and Krug is an FA. I dropped Krug on Monday to pick up Klingberg due to Krug's bad weekly sked but he has b2b games on Saturday and Sunday. I'm considering picking him up tomorrow but I don't if I should drop Vatanen or Barrie. I was considering keeping Barrie since he has b2b games on Saturday and Sunday and dropping Vatanen after tomorrow's game but now Barrie has an injury and I don't know if he'll play on the weekend. Assuming I get no news, should I drop Barrie or take a chance and drop Vatanen?
