I am in a keeper league with cbssportsline where you can sign players to contracts from 1-5 years. Teams salary cap is $260 bucks. Via trades and such I have the 1st and 5th picks this year. Magglio Ordonez is a FA this year so I am taking him #1. With the #5 pick I will most likely have a choice between Cory Hart at $13 or Matt Kemp at $10 and I need OF's or Utility players as I am loaded with plenty of pitching. Kemp's ceiling is high but he may platoon again. Hart put up solid numbers in all 5 categories last year and is the definite starter for the Brewers. Either player I will most likely sign to 5 years. Whom do I go with though, the solid definite starter or the potential in Kemp?

I am in a $50 per team, 12 team keeper league on cbssportsline. All players have contracts anywhere from 1-5 years, you decide how long the contract is. The salary cap for the team is $260 bucks. I took over this team before the start of last season which was the first season. One of the managers had dropped out right after the draft. The team was pretty bad and only about 3 players remain as I have rebuilt through mostly trading for the past 12 months and a few FA moves. Here is my roster. Please rate based on type of league it is.

    C- VMart
    1B- James Loney
    2B- Dan Uggla
    3B- Miggy Cabrera
    SS- Jimmy Rollins
    OF- Aaron Rowand
    OF- Ichiro
    OF- Magglio Ordonez
    Utility- Corey Hart

Have 1st and 5th pick in this years draft, should have OF’s Magglio Ordonez and Corey Hart after draft to fill out Starting Line-up. Will have about 2 more picks late in draft to fill in the bench.

    Pitchers
    SP- Jeff Francis
    SP- Yovani Gallardo
    SP- Aaron Harang
    SP- Francisco Liriano
    SP- John Maine
    SP- Johan Santana
    SP- Aaron Cook
    SP- Tom Gorzelanny
    SP- Ubaldo Jimenez
    SP- Jesse Litsch
    SP- Scott Olsen
    SP- Wandy Rodriguez
    SP- James Shields
    RP- Manny Corpas

After draft hope to somehow land Marmol also as a 2nd RP

10 Minor Leaguers per team, my notables are:

    Evan Langoria
    Jay Bruce
    Matt Harrison
    Adam Miller

Kurt Warner, Hines Ward, Adrian Peterson (min), Tony Gonzalez (this is a league however without a dedicated TE slot just a W/T) and Philly D

    for

Steve Smith (car.), Brett Favre and Derrick Ward.

H2H standard scoring for most part.

Chad is the real deal, but Ronnie Brown is quickly becoming an elite back in this league...and thats on a horrible team that cant pass the ball either and teams can focus more on him. If you can afford to lose a WR like Chad its not a bad deal I dont think, really alot depends on your other RB's and WR's though.

RB's are a tad overrated. I mean having the best is nice but people go nuts for them in the first 2 rounds when look at all the scoring WR's and QB's are getting you this season.

Interesting deal. I mean we all know what Webb brings to the table but you have a chance of having two SP's that could become real studs this season. Is this a keeper league? If it were a kepper thats a deal I would do in the blink of an eye. If it is not though I would think on it for a day. I mean Webb is the real deal already and if you have enough SP than you do not need the 2 young guns. If you could use mroe quality SP I would think on that one.

Thanks Wil, I have been going back and forth on these 2 and the last day been leaning towards Hart for reasons you mentioned and that he has the starting gig for sure. Thanks again man.
