Or do you hide all your teams/leagues? You need an open profile for this league, this is not up for debate. It's simple, if you've got something to hide, you're not welcome.
If it's the former, leave your email if you want to replace a manager who's getting deployed. 16 teams, 7x7 roto with weekly lineups. You'll be able to check everything out for yourself by clicking the invite. You'll be able to check scoring/settings, rosters, messages, pretty much everything *before* you decide to accept. The league is set to be visible (until a suitable replacement is found). Replacement team name is Roto-Cop.

Sure, I've seen it. I'm pretty sure they'll all get the NA tag unless they break camp with spots on the opening roster. All those guys are on the 40 man MLB rosters, so it's not Yahoo's fault. Once teams cut down to 25, then you'll see them tagged NA. If you've got room, add them now.
C.John, you've said it yourself...do you really think you'll find the answer to your keeper entry issue here? Anyway, not looking to fight or tell anyone how to use message boards. But you might get better answers for your issue here (if it allows the link). There's already a post about keeper entry if that helps
You're not going to like the answer. There is no setting for max starts. There are innings pitched limits available in rotisserie, but not in any of the H2H formats. If I remember correctly, the only pitching limits available in H2H are for a minimum innings pitched per week. Having no maximum limit has diminished the value of starting pitchers considerably. A popular strategy is to stream and then drop starters in an effort to dominate the counting stats while punting the averages (ERA/WHIP). They really ought to make a max IP per week limit available to commissioners, imo.
Not that anyone cares but let me explain what I'm trying to do. Weekly league. 14 teams draft 28 rounds to fill a 25 man roster (10 pitchers, 10 hitters, 5 bench) and an additional three bench slots dedicated to prospects. The idea is if you can wait on your prospects until the final three rounds then you're free to stash them in NA slots. Any prospects taken before round 26 cannot be placed in an NA slot, you must carry them on your bench. Then I'd use Commish Tools to make those extra three bench slots disappear.
That is good to know, it would definitely make things easier. Thanks for the reply.
Is there a commish out there with a league that has already drafted who could confirm what Ric said? I'm not asking anyone to make a change to bench size, I just want to know if you have the option available to you after drafting.
First time commisioner with a question- if the draft is set up for 28 rounds, can you use Commish Tools to reduce the number of bench slots after the draft? The idea here would be to have everyone draft prospects for the final three rounds. After draft is complete I would then cut 3 of the 8 bench slots and everyone can stash their three prospects in NA slots. Will this work?
Okay then, don't get mad. I'm not sure what to tell you, I don't see how your specific league has a glitch like that. He's in every league I'm signed up for. Good luck finding him, I guess.
My first thought was that he might be on the list of forced players, in which case he wouldn't show up on waivers until he's called up. But he's not on the list. That means he is available in all Yahoo leagues. Do yourself a favor, John, and just try typing his name in the search field on your league's Players page. If you've already drafted be sure to change the filter from "All Available Players" to "All Players". I guarantee you that he is there.
Larry, just to be clear, I didn't give you the thumbs down. But I'm confused by a few things. How can your league be a "head-to-head rotisserie league"? And what is an HTD points league?
Sounds to me like you're happier playing H2H, Bob. Nothing wrong with that, especially when you play with people you know. As far as managers bailing, I think that has more to do with the manager than the format. Plenty of managers don't keep up with H2H, believe me, it's not just roto leagues. I'll grant that roto can be confusing and/or boring to many and there is less immediate gratification than can be found whooping up on your boss in a company H2H league. Of course, H2H has flaws too, not the least of which is the tendency of managers to punt cats and stream pitching to dominate counting stats.
The playoff system is unique to H2H, I'm not sure what you mean when you say it would be an easy thing to add for roto leagues?
You can look at H2H as 25 separate, weekly roto leagues, taking place between two people (you and your opponent). All the stats accumulated that week are discarded after a winner is determined. Everyone begins the following week with a clean slate. The top teams (in terms of matchup wins, not stat totals) advance to the playoffs to determine final standings.
That's not the case in roto. All stats accumulated by your team are saved. Your place in the standings is determined by comparing your total stats with those of every other team in the league, every day. The winner is decided at season's end. I suppose you could create an artificial playoff format by having the commish wipe out all the stats for the top four (six, eight) teams, then let them play out the remaining two weeks and determine a winner. But that defeats the purpose of the whole season, imo.
In my book, labeling people who disagree with your preferences as "newbies or teenagers" is name calling. Your implication is that they are immature, which is pretty ironic coming from someone who went out of his way to chime in on a topic concerning a format he proclaims to have no interest in.
FYI: You can stream in Roto. People do it all the time. It doesn't always work out but who says your ERA & WHIP *must* be terrible? If you're good at streaming you can actually improve those cats. Big boys league, huh? You're a hoot, Dennis. It almost makes me wonder if, behind all your bluster, you cling to rules and limits in your roto leagues because you're afraid to compete against streamers.
The best solution isn't available (IP maximum), which is too bad since it would be so simple to implement. So you could try "punishing" guys who stream starters by adding some P cats that use negative points, like BB, Hits, HBP, etc That should hurt the guy with 70 IP a lot more than someone with 35 IP. If that still doesn't seem like enough to keep them in check then you could sweeten a few of the Batting cats enough to where managers will want to use their weekly adds on hitters over pitchers. Just some thoughts, I don't really play H2H but I can see where it may be difficult to balance things for scoring.
DennisV20, you must be aware that not all roto managers and leagues follow strict rules to limit streaming. I'm sure yours does, that's great. Again, all I'm saying here is different strokes for different folks, so please don't feel obliged to name call. It's understood you prefer a conservative approach and there are plenty of others who feel the same.
That's because it's a points league. The scoring has to be based on counting stats, not averaged stats like WHIP, ERA, AVG, OBP, etc. You can approximate WHIP by issuing negative points to pitchers when they give up walks and hits.
I've never played in a points format but I just went and created a league to test what was available for scoring categories. The default setting docks you -0.5 pts per earned run. You could issue, maybe -.25 pts per BB/Hit surrendered? Thinking out loud, not sure. You can fine tune in increments of 0.1 point. Figure a default perfect inning (strike out side) is worth 7 points (2pts per K, 1pt per IP). An inning where you load the bases and escape with no ER (but also no Ks) should net zero pts, imo, so ideally you'd want to dock -0.33 pts per BB/H. Kind of interesting, might have to try one of these leagues one day.
No, there' no way to do that. But you can click the My Posts link (above), then find the post you're looking for and reply to it to bump it back to the top of the list. That's why you see people replying with "bump" all the time. Can be slightly annoying depending how often it's done but it is effective.
You can pre- rank players any time. Go to the Overview page and you'll see Pre-Draft rankings. Click "See All". This expands the ranking list and also brings up the Edit Rankings link. Click on that and you're in.

I know what you're talking about. It's mentioned on the league settings page when you're using the commish tools. "When you select the Yahoo Sports option, all league managers have the opportunity to lodge a protest against a given trade with the Fantasy Baseball League Office. All protests will be reviewed by the Yahoo Sports staff and a final decision will be rendered within 48 hours. All decisions on trade protests are final, and no approved trade will ever be reversed. Additionally, the League Office will never re-examine and approve a previously vetoed trade."
Says it costs $14.95 per league, but you're right, it doesn't appear in the drop down choices and there are no links in the little ad blurb. Maybe it's only available in Pro leagues? I wouldn't be interested for non $ leagues anyway, but it seems odd Yahoo would pass up a chance to make some money on free leagues..
The NA tags are likely to show up when the season starts. Wouldn't matter if you had them now anyway, they're like DL slots. The guy gets drafted to your bench, you have to put him in the slot after the draft to gain the free position.
