    lineups

I guess you're joking here but there are plenty of reasons people play weekly leagues that have nothing to do with internet access. For example, they eliminate the ability to engage in churn & burn style streaming, for one. Even so, in a good, competitive weekly league you'll need to be on your toes and checking in daily if you want to do well.

  • Mike Mike Apr 13, 2015 1:38 PM Flag

Exactly, Steve H has got it.

  • Mike Mike Apr 13, 2015 1:36 PM Flag

I think you're confused on how a weekly league works. If your weekly deadline is Monday then yes, you are allowed to set your lineup right up to 5 minutes before the first game on Monday. But what you have to remember is that when you add a new player to your roster he will only show up on your roster for the following Monday. Just as an example, if you had added a player before Sunday at midnight Pacific (3AM eastern), then that player would have been on your roster this morning. By waiting until Monday morning to add him, you missed the opportunity to have him available this morning, he won't appear on your roster until next Monday. Make sense?

Keeper draft rounds and free agents

    by RobC Mar 24, 2015 11:55 AM
Mike Mike Mar 24, 2015 12:15 PM Flag

Probably because they were never drafted. You'll have to come up with a keeper rule for these pick up players if they are being kept. You know your league context better than anyone else so just try and come up with something fair.
If it's a weaker team picking their last keeper, maybe you place him in the last few rounds. If it's a stronger team and the player is currently being drafted early then you might place him in a round that reflects his current value. Alternatives would be to announce that all previously undrafted players will be placed in a certain round regardless of team strength or perceived player value. Whatever you decide be sure to announce it on your league's board and give everyone time to make their decisions. Good luck.

    2014 ADP report? HELP!

    by Patty A Feb 18, 2015 3:59 PM

I'm not sure what you mean by a report but you could just go to your league's archive for last season and click on Draft Results. Are you trying to see what round the keepers were drafted in to figure costs? That should work. If for some reason you can't access your archives for 2014 you could go to the Players tab and sort them by using the Research option in the drop down, then clicking on the column labeled Average Pick. Good luck

Change keepers from 5 to 10?

    by Frenchy Mar 1, 2015 4:37 PM

The number of keepers is all up to you as commish. If you want to make it 10 just tell your managers to pick 10 players when choosing their keepers.

Purple Tomato is correct, you can't delete the league post-draft even if you are the commissioner. The draft reset option (look in your Commish Tools) that was mentioned is an interesting idea, maybe give that a shot. This isn't the intended purpose but resetting might allow you to boot and replace the cheater(s). As a commissioner myself I'm curious to know if it works, so let us know if you go ahead and try it....good luck. And make sure you check emails/profiles when looking for new managers.

25 man roster breaks down as follows
    10 hitters, standard format
    10 pitchers= 5 SP, 3 RP + 2 generic P slots
    5 bench

This team is not bad as far as keeper takeover projects go, so I know there's a manager out there who can work with it. Check out the league beforehand if you like, id# 12276.

Still looking for a replacement. This is not a bad team at all and you'll still have plenty of time to trade players/draft picks before the draft.

    Maximum keeper question...

    by Greg Feb 28, 2015 10:48 AM
Mike Mike Feb 28, 2015 12:38 PM Flag

It's going to depend on your commissioner. He could do what Frostbite described but if the other managers protest he could also place all keepers in the final rounds. That way the manager who's not keeping 5 does not benefit by picking first. For example, let's say you're playing with 25 man rosters. The commish then places keepers in rounds 21-25. The manager keeping only 4 players will then have his extra pick in round 21, after everyone else is done drafting. Obviously this discourages managers from keeping fewer players.

Forgot to mention, this league is free league and we use FAAB for waivers. You can check out the league page for yourself, id # 12276. Give it a shot, you only need to set your lineup once a week.

    Transfer teams

    by Sparky Feb 25, 2015 9:32 AM
Mike Mike Feb 25, 2015 10:02 AM Flag

I'm guessing you deleted the two teams that didn't return, that's why the two new teams have no players associated with them. It's too late to transfer teams now but what you could do is use your Commissioner Tools to manually add the players from the old teams to the new teams. You'll have to go to your league archives for last season to see the rosters for the old teams. Although now that I think about it, the history of the old teams probably disappeared when you deleted the old teams. If that's the case you'll have to figure out a fair way to manually stock the two new teams with 3 keepers each prior to drafting. Maybe let the two new owners take turns choosing players via your league's message board or by email. Good luck.

    FAAB Question s

Mike Mike Feb 25, 2015 9:49 AM Flag

It works the same as if you didn't have FAAB, the team with the higher waiver priority (the lower number) will get the player. Commissioner and the teams placement in the standings have nothing to do with it.

    Question about publishing leagues

Mike Mike Feb 23, 2015 1:49 PM Flag

Yeah, I figured when it gave me that warning about losing history that deleting the team was not the way to go. Thanks, Steve. I guess I'll have to try finding a replacement here. I wish Yahoo made the process easier by allowing me to publish.
