    Is this a fair trade?

I would keep Thornton. Has more offensive players around him and is great for powerplay points and FW.

Quick and Benn (Kopitar close 3rd). Ryan shouldn't even be an option compared to these other players.

Take the trade, if you have to drop someone, sounds like Quick will be replacing Miller anyway, so drop him (or possibly counter-offer with Miller & Giroux for an even more favorable trade).

Brent Burns dual eligibility for 2013-14?

    by GriffeyJr Aug 18, 2013 2:46 AM
Michael Michael Aug 26, 2013 1:32 PM Flag

SJ has stated that Burns will be offense this coming season, but will man the point on the PP. So he should be eligible for dual position. However, yahoo typically waits a few games of a player playing at the alternate position before adding the dual position feature to a player. So if he doesn't start with it, he should get it shortly after the season starts.

    renewing a league

If you are the commissioner of the league, you will be able to renew your league. Once Yahoo opens up the hockey fantasy leagues for this new season, you will see your prior league(s) listed on the page of your currently owned teams. This will include the option to renew your league for the coming season. After renewing it, you will have the option to invite all, or select, members to rejoin your league for the upcoming season.

    Which 8 Should I Keep?

    by Steve J Aug 21, 2013 7:28 PM
Michael Michael Aug 22, 2013 10:39 AM Flag

That's a nice list to pick from. My choices:
    - Stamkos
    - H. Sedin
    - E. Staal
    - Nash
    - St. Louis
    - Callahan (does great with all the stats mentioned, and new offensive coach will only help)
    - Letang
    - Quick
LA is getting better and has a coach that likes to stick with one goalie. Niemi is great too, but SJ might be losing their key players at end of season due to free agency and decline further. Quick will be worth the keep in the long run.

If you have an open IR spot, grab Kovalchuk to stash on the IR. Lupul won't be back until Saturday (at the earliest). So maybe you can ride Stastny until then depending on how many moves you are allowed in a week.

Guaranteed Active League with Unique Rules

    by Michael Sep 6, 2012 2:06 PM

Still looking for a few more managers.

  • This is a league with some unique rules to keep the season fun, yet competitive. And every team is guaranteed to remain active. Custom rules and settings outlined below.

    Guaranteed Active
    - If a manager goes inactive for 30 days, the manager is kicked out and the commissioner takes over the team
    - The top droppable player from each skater position is then dropped from the team for the remaining active managers to acquire
    - Decent replacement players are then added to the inactive team to keep it competitive
    - Commissioner handles line edits, injury replacements, etc. for the “inactive” team
    - However, the “inactive” team will be managed in such a way that it will not make the playoffs (yet not be shutout each week in the head-to-head matchup

    Free-Agent Deadline
    - Upon the trade deadline, there will also be a free-agent deadline. This means that the final list of players on your team must be finalized before heading into the playoffs. This way, no team is adding/dropping players each week of the playoffs in an attempt to get a better matchup. You have to build your team during the regular season…not the playoffs.

    Weekly Rosters
    - You choose which players will be in your lineup for the entire week (not each day). This adds some strategy into figuring out who you want to play that week, not just going in daily to maximize the games played. Also makes it nice to have as an additional league to participate in as it does not require daily maintenance.

Now in our 5th year of a NON-KEEPER league, we are looking for some new managers to possibly expand and/or replace some inactive ones that snuck in last season.

    2 Right wing

    STATS:

Goalies - Games Started, Wings, Goals Against, Save Percentage, Shutouts

    Draft vs Lockout

    by A Yahoo! User Sep 6, 2012 3:17 PM
Michael Michael Sep 7, 2012 4:23 PM Flag

Drafting occurs as scheduled with your league. The players you draft are the players you get whenever the league does end up starting up fo this season. If the entire season is locked out, not sure how Yahoo will handle, but I would have to imagine that a new draft would take place next season.
