There seems to be a pretty split opinion on this trade actually...you must be expecting Davis to bounce back in a big way then?

Don't do it...Rendon is going to see Dr. James Andrews to have a 2nd opinion on his knee. I'd at the very least wait to see how that goes and what the prognosis is.

Thanks. Yeah I know spring stats mean nothing, that's why I asked if anyone has seen how looks this Spring, meaning actually watched some of his AB's because I have not. I do recall one of the ESPN baseball analysts saying how he looked great earlier in the spring, was driving the ball to all fields and making adjustments to the shift but I also feel like you have to take that with a grain of salt because they will pretty much tell you whatever the player tells them lol.

Fair points...but in a 10 team league I feel much better about my chances of making up the pitching via the waiver wire and streaming than I do switching through 3Bs all season. Samardzija has been fine pitching in a similar ballpark in Chicago in his career and handled the AL pretty well too last year with the A's...the league switch does concern me slightly tho. I disagree on Gray though, I think he will make another step forward.

This is true but you could say the same of Chris Davis if he starts out the season crushing HRs while Richards is on the DL...I definitely understand it's a high risk/reward situation but I don't think I would feel too good about running out a couple of 40 year old 3Bs in A-Ram and A-Rod.

Yeah I don't agree with him at all on that...Richards was pretty much a top 15 starter when he was on the field last year, that's why I am so weary of moving him for Davis in hopes of a bounce back. I doubt I will be able to get a more "sure thing" at 3B by moving pitching tho. Richards is coming off a torn patellar tendon too...

Thanks for the input everyone...I'm leaning towards doing the deal unless I can shop around for something better. 3B is the only position I really feel I need to upgrade and I could at least use A-Ram or another waiver wire option to platoon with Davis when he faces lefties to kind of offset his platoon splits. I always feel that I can find pitching throughout the season on the waiver wire but power like Davis' is hard to find. There is also no real strict innings cap or transaction limit so I can always stream starters.

I would gladly take his 2012 stats but last year makes me weary. Obviously 2013 was an outlier and you could say the same about last year but I haven't really seen much of him this spring. He needs to make some adjustments to all the pitchers that are just pounding him in. He is back on the adderall, which can only help right?
What kind of bounce back are we expecting from Chris Davis? I waited too long on 3B and need to upgrade. I was offered;
Chris Davis for Garrett Richards
My other SPs are; Cueto, Gray, Samardjiza, Carrasco, Bailey, Odorizzi and Tillman
Should I make this trade? I'm currently going with A-Ram at 3B with the best options on the waiver wire are Headley, A-rod, Lawrie, Castellanos, etc. I'm just a bit weary of giving up a pitcher as good as Richards for Davis after his last season...I think he bounces back, but to what extent?
